How You Can Have 'A Wonderful Life' The Gathering
Attention young married couples! We’re
happy to introduce a new group just for
you! This group is intended for all young
married couples throughout Deer Park

teaching, or otherwise serving in. Similar to
the GoGetter group for the seniors, it is
intended to form and build connections,
strengthen our relationship with Christ, and
equip and encourage us in our mission to
spread the Gospel. You are invited to join and partake in the group
if you are married, have been so under 10 years OR have children
under 10 years old OR are under 35yo. Come and participate even
if your spouse is working, deployed, or unable to come. Our

Men’s Ministry
Don’t forget TESTOSTERONE TUESDAY on
December 19th at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.
We’ll enjoy a great time of food and fellowship as
well as hear a great message from Pastor Stephen.
And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the
face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the
boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and
perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not
far from each one of us .Acts 17:26-27
One thing I love about this time of year is the traditions we have in our
family. One of them is sitting down to watch the Jimmy Stewart
movie, It’s A Wonderful Life. You may have seen it, but it’s about this
fellow named George Bailey who grows up in a small town and has
great dreams and aspirations of seeing the world and making lots of
money.
But through a series of circumstances that he couldn’t control, George
never could get out of that little one-horse town. Every time he tried,
something happened to keep him there. And to top it off, through a
mistake one day it appeared that he would be sent to jail.
He was ready to end it all when an angel came to show him what the
world would be like if he’d never been born. And George Bailey came
to understand that even though he didn’t get to achieve his dreams,
he did have a wonderful life that impacted many more people than
he realized.
I’m convinced there is a little George Bailey in all of us. We want to
achieve significance on a huge scale and often forget the small ways
that our lives have deeply impacted those around us. Thank God for
where He’s placed you and the people you’ve been able to impact.
And one day when you meet the Lord, you’ll realize you really did
have a wonderful life. THANK GOD FOR THE LIFE YOU’RE LIVING AND
IMPACT OTHERS HE’S PLACED AROUND YOU! ~Dr. Jack Graham
Celebrating Christmas can be a very hectic
time for many people. So many of us spend a
lot of time trying to find the perfect gift for the
people that we love. I hope that you will take
the time to pause from the hustle and bustle
of the celebration to reflect on the perfect
gift that God has already given to you.
John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His
only Son…”
I am constantly reminded that this is the reason that we celebrate
Christmas, God’s perfect gift of His Son from His perfect love for
you. May we all rejoice in this demonstration of God’s great love.
On another note, I am so thankful, in many ways, that the Lord
brought my family to Deer Park Baptist Church. Shortly after we
began serving at Deer Park, our son Matthew met a young girl
named Jeanne Marsh and that young lady is now his fiancé. I
want to ask you to join me, Pam, Larry and Susan in praying for
and supporting our children as they take this next step in their lives.
Thank you for investing in them and celebrating with us!
I pray that you and your family will have a great Christmas
celebration as we reflect on the greatest gift
that has ever been given, Jesus Christ. I look
forward to seeing you this Sunday morning in
Sunday School at 9:45 and worship at 11:00.
I really do love being your pastor!
Stephen
Volunteers Needed
Do you have a green thumb? We need volunteers
to ‘adopt’ and maintain the flower beds behind the
Educational Building. Please contact the property
team or church office if interested.
Charlotte Digges "Lottie" Moon (December 12,
1840 – December 24, 1912) was a Southern Baptist
missionary to China with the International Mission
Board who spent nearly 40 years living and working
in China. As a teacher and evangelist she laid a
foundation for traditionally solid support for missions
among Baptists in America.
Lottie Moon has come to personify the missionary spirit for Southern
Baptists and many other Christians, as well. The annual Lottie Moon
Christmas Offering for Missions has raised a total of $1.5 billion for
missions since 1888, and finances half the entire Southern Baptist
missions budget every year.
This year our church has set a goal to raise $5,000 towards the Lottie
Moon Christmas Offering. Please pray about what your family can
give during this holiday season.

so by Sunday, December 31st or postmarked no later than 12/30.
