Threats
• Between 40 to 60 percent of all terrorist attacks against traveling convoys are made by improvised explosive devices. Some of those attacks include fire attacks, which began immediately after the detonation of the explosive device. However more explosives are used as a means of engaging the attention of the convoy
• Some of the IEDs were remotely detonated using available low-technology devices, which enabled radio frequency command detonation. Therefore, this implies that observation of the target area probably requires line-of-sight observation points in many cases. However, the adaptation of using radios, cell phones and other remotely controlled devices has given the enemy the standoff ability to watch forces from a distance and not be compromised

The solution - “Comet” technology
• The “Comet” technology is completely Bulgarian intellectual product. The articles are designed and build according to MIL-STD-810F standard. They are produced and tested in the condition of certified system of quality management ISO 9001: 2000 and AQAP 2110
• “Comet” can be configured in manner to answer the specific client's needs –mobile, stationary and man-carried
• Each module can work independent or in system with other modules. In case of setting up of complicated solutions, a number of independent and faraway located systems can be controlled from distance and/or centralized from the Command center by Management and Configuration Software
• All jam conditions can be programmed by the client using specialized software installed on Windows based computer ( the software can be developed according to customer needs).

13
“Comet” technology• The output power can be changed by operator. The
following parameters are controlled by software• Output power• Disconnected links to the antennas• Modules inside temperature• Cooling system• Power supply voltage
• Each module can be configured separately from others, which gives priority to the operator to choose his own jamming “scenarios” using:
• All modules• Only selected modules• Spot jamming • Combination of different configurations for
different modules

14
“Comet” technology
• The protected area can be monitored through the menu – this is helpful information for the operator when the system is in use and/or in diagnostics regime. “Comet” can work using cars battery net
• The product can be powered by accumulator too

Advantages of “Comet” technologies
Advantages:
• Freely programmed communications channels • System based on independent modules • Using omni-directional antennas • Uni-directional antennas can be supplied • Build in test and protection algorithms and output power monitor • Managing and diagnostics subsystem • Design and producing depend specific client requirements• Remote control via PC/PDA• Easy for implementation• The system have been tested and sold

Applications
For protection and defense of :
• Military or civil convoys • Prisons• Stationary or moving objects• Important main roads and logistic centers• A mass events and activities • Protection of government offices and facilities • Special operations against terrorist and
organized groups• Protection against monitoring and interception
systems• Special operations for the disposal of explosive
devices

Types of radio jammers depending on their application
• Mobile
• Stationary
• Man - carried (in a suitcase)
• Manpack (in rucksack)

18
Mobile radio jammer
• The mobile system is a set of six independent modules, which jams radio signals in the range of most popular GSM and radio equipment. Modules can work separated or in groups
• The system ensures independent free programmed channels for communications. Modules can be configured for use in groups or separately.
• The product is equipped with special GSM module • The radio-jammer can work properly without loosing its electrical parameters in
various climate conditions: low atmospheric pressure; in very wide temperature range from -30°С to +55°С; in relative humidity up to 98%; frost, dew, rain, solar radiation and dust
• The unit works efficiently even in case of shocks and vibrations, in case of using in cars and armed vehicles, on any roads with any speeds, at any time on the day during the whole year

Mobile radio-jammer
• The “Comet's” remote control is ensured by software installed on a laptop. There is a possibility to keep the set of software parameters “Custom band” and full parameter's control, with embedded systems for automatic control of: Output power; power supply voltages; cooling system; VSWR diagnostics and self diagnostics
• It is very easy to be adapted to all vehicles

Stationary system
• The stationary jammer (system) is designed to jam radio and GSM communications, to counteract radio or GSM controlled explosive threats in buildings, including buildings with special status such as prisons, police stations, embassies, consulates, border checkpoints, public buildings, etc.
• The used modern communication technologies allows the jammer to be controlled close to the unit or remotely – according to the customer requirements
• Jammers by different output power or frequency range are offered, if necessary it can be designed in accordance with the customers requirements
Electron Progress EAD
22
Stationary system• The systems for control, management, and diagnostics gives the operator
complete picture of the equipments status • The jammer is completely automated in case of critical situations such as
overheating, malfunction of the antennas, or changing the power supply voltage
Electron Progress EAD
23
Manpack jammer
• Manpack jammer is designed to jam radio and GSM communications, to protect special operation groups or task forces against bombs or mines with remote radio/GSM activation, which have to pass thru dangerous areasThe use of the device can be done in two ways
• By elegant suitcase• By backpack
• It is fully pressurized and it is able to work in various climate conditions• It can be mounted on a car or armed military vehicle and after that can be
transformed into man-carried kind. The frequency range, their number, realized in one man-carried module, the output power and other parameters depends on the clients needs and requirements. The control, management, and diagnostics system gives to the operator full notion of equipment's condition
Electron Progress EAD
24
Manpack jammer
• The jammer is completely automated in case of critical situations such as overheating, malfunction of the antennas, or changing the power supply voltage
• Jamming band covers: СВ radio stations, analog radio stations, radio alarms, Walky–Talky (LB,VHF, UHF300, UHF350,UHF400, UHF700/800) Cellular NMT, car alarms, Cellular CDMA 450, Tetra, Cellular CDMA/TDMA, GSM 900, GPS, Satellite Thuraya, Iridium, Odyssey, GlobalStar, Inmarsat, Aces, Elipso, GSM 1800, GSM1900, Cellular UMTS/WCDMA(3G), WLAN, FiFi, Fi Max and many others
• If necessary it is possible to make full or partial design of the jammer or the accompanying software and producing the needed modules to cover client's requirements
Electron Progress EAD
25
Manpack jammer
Advantages:• Automatic monitoring of the quality of the antenna, operating temperature,
supply voltage • Overload protection to the transmitter output, overheating, etc.• Testing, configuration and diagnostics – via PC• Turn on and Turn off – remotely via PC or through a switch based on the
faceplate • Implemented testing program for monitoring the state of the jammer and its
management
