The client had a major pain point to optimize
inventory levels, and the number of warehouses
needed to service customers. The current processes
were manual and tedious to make these decisions.
Supply chain managers made decisions with their
traditional knowledge and that was not optimal.
MOURI Tech solved the problem with a data-driven
approach that saved millions of dollars in costs for
the client. The ROI was approximately six months. A
prescriptive analytics solution that involved
modeling the entire supply chain network of various
factories, warehouses, and customer locations
into a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP)
optimization model was provided to the customer.
The model helped calculate the costs for millions of nodes within the supply chain network and answer critical
questions around inventory requirement, storage needs and the number of warehouses, etc. The client was able to
leverage the solution outputs for strategic negotiations with sub-contract warehouses saving millions of dollars. A
senior member of the client team stated, “We are going to leverage this solution as a strategic tool for supply chain
execution. We believe the optimization model insights can give us an edge over the competition to ship our products
faster yet keep costs low”. In the coming months, the customer is expected to scale up the solution.

Inventory Stock Out Predictor
A leading pharmaceutical firm had issues managing
its drug inventory levels, with dependance on
contractual agreements with suppliers, shipping
locations, and logistics. Predicting market demand
and controlling the inventory holding cost was a
challenge, due to the paper-based procurement
process that lacked dynamic data insights.
MOURI Tech helped solve the problem with an AI-
based data-driven model. The prescriptive analytics
solution modeled their entire supply chain network
with various data sets such as external demand
data, SKU shelf life, price categories of each drug, and
contractual terms with suppliers and manufacturers.
Further, assumptions on parameters such as cost,
safety stock, and obsolescence were agreed upon
with the client. A monthly inventory planning model
was generated specific to its geographic regions.
Outcomes:
Ÿ Increased forecast accuracy by 5% while
reducing stock-outs by 3%
Ÿ Reduced the inventory holding cost by 2%
Ÿ Ability to predict and optimize monthly
procurement schedules for suppliers
RPA for Effective Sales Processing
Our client is a medical service provider of essential
products and services that help improve clinical and
operational outcomes. With multiple customer
purchase orders (POs) every day, they encountered
chal lenges in manually processing the PO
information. Employees performed multi-stage
activities for processing and mapping these POs
against the sales orders. Thus, they wanted to
automate the process and reduce the average
handling time.
MOURI Tech implemented a BOT that could replicate
the manual task. The system can now automatically
pull customer information from emails and extract
data using Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
feature. As per instructions, the BOT takes specific
fields and uploads the PO in the SAP system,
mapping it against the sales order. Once confirmed,
it automatically sends an order confirmation email to
the customer and captures detailed logs for further
audits.
Outcomes:
Ÿ Achieved >97% accuracy eliminating human
errors
Ÿ Reduced processing time from 15 mins to less
than a minute
Ÿ Error-free processing of 8,000 documents at the
beginning of every month
Ÿ Reduced response time to its customers
