VECTR™ offers a full line of exterior architectural panels manufactured with TAKTL®, a new Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC). Uniting superior strength, durability, and environmental performance with a wide range of pattern, finish and color options, VECTR panels offer a comprehensive array of designs that are simple to specify, easy to install, price competitive, and meet the strict requirements of today’s green building projects.

material properties compressive strength - 126 (MPa) / 18,275 (psi)

flexural strength (matrix) - 19 (MPa) / 2,756 (psi) flexural strength (panel) - 25 (MPa) / 3,626 (psi)

tensile strength - 8 (MPa) / 1,160 (psi) density (thin panel) - 2.3 (to/m³) / 143.5 (lb/ft³)

pull out strength (undercut anchor) shear - 2.015 (kN) / 453 (lbf) tension - 3.59 (kN) / 808.2 (lbf)

TAKTL® is a homogeneous material, with characteristics consistent throughout, including color.

All exterior elements are treated with a hydrophobic nano-coating to protect the material until fully cured.

panel basicspanel sizes

Our largest standard panel size is 3'-10" by 9'-0". All panels will be ½” in thickness unless otherwise specified.Custom sizes and thicknesses are available please contact us for more information.

panel edge options

VECTR™ provides two different panel edge conditions: A square edge (or 90 degree return on the panel) and a quirk miter edge. At the outside corners, the square edge reveals the full thickness of the panel, while the quirk miter minimizes the exposed thickness of the panel and visually maintains the continuity of the panel surface pattern around corners.

panel joints

Joints between panels shall be determined based upon building movement. Thermal movement is negligible and does not affect joint size. Panels cannot be butt joined due to building movement which may cause buckling between adjacent panels. VECTR recommends a minimum 3/16” joint between panels, unless project specific building movement values require greater spacing between panels. Criteria to determine minimal joint sizes based on building movement values should be reviewed by the structural engineer of the project.

thermal movement

The coefficient of expansion for VECTR panels equals 0.01mm/m/deg K, which is extremely low. Over a 38 degree Celsius temperature swing, the movement of a 1 meter long panel is 0.38mm. Therefore special provisions related to thermal movement are not required in the anchorage or joint design of the panel.

Panels ship cut to size and prepped for anchors. Please specify visible or concealed fasteners.

exterior wall & facade elementstechnical data

anchor setback

Edge of undercut anchor or hole for through bolt fastening must be a minimum of 3” from panel edge to comply with pull-out testing requirements.

anchor spacing

For adequate support, panels must have a minimum of four anchors.

Spacing between anchors shall not exceed 39”.

Anchors must be set a minimum of 3” from all panel edges.

testing & certificationsFor testing materials and perfecting formulations, we have comprehensive in-house testing equipment in our Materials Lab. This equipment allows us to quickly and easily determine whether color formulations, reinforcements and production batches meet our high standards of performance. It also gives us the ability to optimize our production process for efficiency and material strength development by providing a fast, easy way to test samples at different points in the curing process. TAKTL® is initially focusing on certified testing for U.S. and European building codes, partnering with testing labs in Germany and the U.S.

benefits

VECTR™ panels can be cut with standard equipment in the field - we recommend a wet saw with a continuous rim blade and wet drilling with glass or diamond bits. Panels are typically packed and shipped with either under-cut anchors, or through-bolt holes with or without counter-boring. Standard panel sizes have been determined for easy handling by two people. Panels are packed in exterior grade crates, organized and labeled to support installation staging. And VECTR panels are easy to maintain by cleaning with mild nonabrasive detergent and water.

Please contact our technical support staff for environmental impact data or to speak to one of our LEED® Accredited Professionals about the requirements of your project.

Whether you require assistance in design, specification, samples, pricing, or installation, we have a qualified, proactive team of design professionals, engineers, and installation experts to provide technical advice, drawings, and project management services. We are passionate about TAKTL and about helping our clients understand the application and potential of VECTR Exterior Panels.

strength & stability

> higher strength translates to longer spans between anchors and lower installation costs> thinner profiles make elegant forms possible and reduce shipping costs> extremely stable material matrix will not shrink or expand over time> lighter weight results in less material required for foundation and support walls> less material simplifies handling and lowers costs

durability

> chloride diffusion: withstands road and environmental salt> water suction: not susceptible to cracking through freeze-thaw cycles> color: dense material matrix protects pigment and enhances performance> life span: expected life exceeds 100 years

durability

> local materials> regional, low-energy manufacturing> longer life cycle> material efficiency, recyclability

cost

> product: efficiencies of automated manufacturing and local materials> installation: efficient, clear, and thoughtful installation systems for onsite ease and manageability> freight: regional manufacturing, nesting components, less weight

aesthetics

> color: integral, saturated, standard, custom> finish: polished to matte, with fine detail possible> pattern: low relief to highly sculptural
