“Faithful are the wounds of a friend……” Proverbs 27:6

“TRUE FRIENDS”

Friends, how many of us have them, ones we can depend on? That the chorus line to an old rap song which had some very powerful and true lyrics in it, (all rap music isn’t bad). As I read today’s scripture I was immediately reminded of that song, and when I would listen to it how I would try to count my true friends. I never came up with too many! A true friend always has your best interest at heart. A true friend will always tell you what you need to hear, and not things to appease you. A true friend is there with you on the mountain top, and in the valley. Proverbs 18:24 says: “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”. There a true friends, that no matter what, they will always be there for you. When family members say they’re busy, or no, that friend will be there, (Proverbs 17:17). The Bible says because Abraham believed God, (had faith and trusted in Him) it was accounted to him for righteousness. And he was called the friend of God (James 2:23). We also must have someone we can trust and believe in that we can call friend. But just as Abraham proved himself to God, our friendship and friends must be proven. Jesus told His disciples (apostles): “I no longer call you servants… But I have called you friends…..” (John 15:14-15). They had proven themselves to Christ and He chose them to be His friends (vs. 16). We also must choose our friends very carefully, and with much discretion. Those we choose to call friends can help build us up, or help tear us down. Be sure you have “True Friends”!

Be Blessed!

ACTIVE FRONTLINE MESSAGE FOR JULY

For all the brothers who are married...or have a special women in their lives, think about this: What is her favorite flower? Is it a rose? A tulip? Carnations? Whatever it may be...she is the flower...and we are her stem. It is our respon-sibility to be firmly rooted in God’s word and feed her what she needs to be as pretty and healthy as can be. If we aren’t firmly rooted, she’ll wither and die. Think about it. Active Frontline Ministries Beto One

SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH: It’s the deeper hunger to experience God, that awakes the attention of God. As the Spirit searches the deeper things of God. And Jesus passed from there two blind men followed him crying aloud; “Have mercy on us, Son of David,” and Jesus said; “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” (Matt. 9: 27-28) Rey P.

“HE IS COMING”

“Jesus Christ is coming soon, He shall appear in the sky, and call His children home some glory day. Jesus Christ is coming soon, Get ready church for that glorious day, when we will see Jesus face to face. Jesus Christ is coming soon, to take us to that mansion in heaven above, we shall abide with Him for eternity. Yes, Jesus Christ is coming soon, He shall appear in the sky all dressed in white and full of His glo-ry, Yes, my friend Jesus Christ is coming soon.” By: Pastor Derek Hooper

“GOD IS SOVEREIGN OVER DELAYS!” Proverbs 16:9

by Pastor Decaso Woods

Today I would love to share these wonderful encouraging word’s what Mrs. Connie Hilton; who’s head coordinator over a Christian Class at Beto 1 Unit called “Bridges to Life” shared with us. She starts by saying: no one likes to wait, but have you ever wondered why? It’s because delays show us that we are not in control. Someone or something else is calling the shots. Although we may be able to identity the immediate cause -- like a traffic light or the long check out line -- ulti-mately the one who controls all our delays is the LORD. Since He is Sovereign over everything in heaven and on earth, even our time and schedules are in His hands. This means that in every de-lay, we are actually waiting for God in one way or another. You might have thought that the ex-pression “Waiting Upon The LORD” applies only to seeking guidance from Him or an answer to prayer. But it can mean so much more when you remember that He controls all you day-to-day inconveniences and frustrations. In the Christian life learning to wait is vitally important because until You do, you’ll never be able to walk in obedience to God, have an effective prayer life, or ex-perience the peace of resting in His loving sovereignty. We must learn to trust His judgment -- about not just the BIG events in our lives, but also the trivial ones which causes us to become irri-tated, impatient or even angry. If we’re sensitive to His instructions each delay has a lesson. The next time you face an unexpected or unwanted wait, remember that it comes as no surprise to God. He wants to teach you patience and increase your faith. He’s more interested in developing Godly character than He is in making sure your schedule run’s according to your plans. I hope these kind words from Mrs., Hilton helps you through rough situations when you will have to wait for God to help you out of a uncomfortable situation. My brothers and sisters in acceptance lies peace. There’s a old song my grandmother use to sing in church: “He may not come when you want Him, but He will be there right on time; He’s an on time God...Yes He Is. If you believe this please pray that God will use you and all in Christ and The Day of the Lord Ministries to keep go-ing forth righteously in God’s word. Amen Please read Isaiah 40:31, Hebrews 6:9-12 and 1 Peter 3:12, 17-20. Thank you!

Insight Christian joke about waiting patiently There was this professor, teacher and pastor who was going on a important trip on a plane to tell many how they became who they are today. Then suddenly the pilot told all three of them “quickly take your parachutes and jump because the plane is going to crash soon. But sadly there was only two parachutes left on the plane. So, rudely the professor said I’m taking the first para-chute because I’m the one with the brains the world needs more of me so then the professor jumped off the plane. Then the pastor said bravely take my parachute and jump now you have a lot of young children to teach. Then the teacher looked on the seat in the plane and said to the pastor you are blessed there’s another parachute waiting for you over there. With joy the pastor grab the parachute then looked around and noticed his back pack was gone; then he said out loud to the teach; “oh no, the professor mistakenly thought my back pack was a…..parachute! Matthew 20:16 so the last will be first and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.

“KNOWING GOD”

Here as we look at the scriptures, we will notice a few very valuable principles. We truly find ourselves be-ing on trial or tested from time to time. “KNOWING GOD”… Let’s look at 1 John 2: 3-5; Verse 3 says this, Now by this we know that we know Him if we what? KEEP HIS COMMANDEMENTS… we all as Christian brothers & sisters know His commandments. Exodus 20: 1-17. Verse 4 if we say we know Him and does NOT keep his commandments is a LIAR and the TRUTH is not in him. we have to obey God’s word. HE WHO HAS RECEIVED HIS TESTIMONY HAS CERTIFIED THAT GOD IS TRUE (John 3:33)...Our actions will truly prove if we’re obeying His commandments. Verse 5 says BUT whoever keeps His word truly the LOVE OF GOD is PERFECTED in HIM by this we know that we are in Him. Obedience to the COMMANDMENTS OF GOD test ones knowledge of His, GENUINE LOVE FOR GOD & TRUE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. Let’s look at PERFECTED = TELEIOO means to complete, accomplish, flawless, absolute, soundness, reach a goal, fulfill...here in the spiritual sense the word signifies bringing to maturity a perfecting. In KNOWING GOD we are making it right obeying His word. In closing, understanding that obedience is the clear mark of a person who KNOWS GOD. OBEY God’s words so that His LOVE WILL MATURE IN YOU...KNOWING GOD. May God greatly & richly bless you is my prayers… In Christ, Evangelist Jimmy L. Tennison

“PURPOSE IN THE PAIN”

“My brother...My sister” let not your heart be troubled, for in due season, this too, shall be no more, So keep your eyes fixed on the prize ahead - because (soon) there will be an open door.

Know that (this trial) is absolutely necessary… if ever there’s going to be any (change), “GOD” doesn’t

want you to miss out on your blessings - so stay following (HIS) lead, as He brings you into range.

Saints, the Lord knows exactly what it takes to accomplish (in and through us), His divine “plan, will, and purpose” for our lives. Therefore, we mustn't (faint) in times of adversity, but rather “stand firm...and stay the course - all the while, (expecting) that (this, too, shall pass)!!!” No matter how intense the pain from life abuse, or how dark and gloomy your days might get, “keep pushing!” giving up is (not) an option for the believer…(under no circumstances). So whatever you do, “Don’t abort the journey that God is leading you on, because in doing so, you just might miss your blessing.” Remember my brother and sister in Christ, “All things work together for good to them who love the Lord, to them who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). PEACE!

“CRYING WOLF”

I’ve always wondered why God allowed bad things to happen to good people especially seeing that He is such a good God. My name is Ray. As a child I always boasted about my perfect vision and my extreme ability to hear conversations between people clear across the room. I remember the day I was in a spelling B, and the team that won would get to go to the White House and meet President Obama and his family. Mom being a strong Christian lady trusted God to help us win and He did j-u-s-t that. Mom sat at the foot of the stage just where I needed her to be. We’d battled down to the final word, the only two teams who had any chance of winning at all was Central Middle School which was us and Bryant Middle School. Mrs. White cleared her throat as she combed over each one of us before calling out the final word. “This woman has to be crazy, she couldn’t even spell the long word,” I thought to myself. It was do or die, if Central slammed down on the button before the thirty seconds was up the word had to be spelled correct or we lose. Just before the final seconds I slammed my hand down on the button as fast and as hard as I could. As I stood panting all eyes gazed upon me as I uttered the word prior to attempting to spell it and then I started “p-n-e-u-m-o-e-n,” pausing for a instant moment I heard mom as she whispered the last of the letters, “c-e-p-h-a-l-o-g-r-a-p-h-y.” “That’s correct” Mrs. White stated as the crowd grew loud with applauses. We enjoyed our visit at the White House that year, November 4, 2010. To this day mom doesn’t know it was her who helped me to win that Spelling “B”. Whether it was a gift from God or not I used it to my advantage especially when things got boring in school. I even used it to repeat things I heard that was suppose to be secretive and boy watching girls fight was a thriller. They would accuse each other of breaking their sacred trust. I loved the drama. July 4th, 2011 was going to be splashing, me, Bobby and Shawn bought a lot of fireworks, we couldn’t wait until night fall so we could set them off. Things didn’t go quite like we planned, just as I was getting ready to set off my B-4 Bob-cat, Shawn eased up behind me and lit his and that was the last thing I’ve heard in months. I lost my hearing completely and my so called friends as well, now, I’m a loner. Well, not actually alone that much because mom was still there with me. She and I took walks together everywhere. She helped me to realize quite a few things when it came to God and His gifts which I believed it was too late for me because I abused the one He’d given me, at least, that’s what I thought until the day mom and I sat inside our neighborhood ice cream shop one Saturday afternoon. Mom went to the counter to or-der our favorite while I placed out Bibles and note pads out on our table. Mom would look over at me every now and then and pass me a gentle smile while she stood in the long awaited line. Sitting in our booth I turned to look over at the window and that’s when I saw a young boy leaning out the window of a three story house. I sat watching him as he ran back and forth from the window, as I continued watching I noticed he was yelling something. I stayed focused just long enough to read his lips, “Help, somebody help me, my little brother is trapped.” I ran to mom and grabbed her by the arm in urgency, she followed me as I led the way across the street through several yards. The boy opened the front door and led me inside all the way through to the backyard to an old huge freezer that somehow held the child captive. I grabbed a garden tool and begin to bang on the lock until I was able to get to the unconscious child, where I was able to finally bring him back to life through CPR. Everyone who’d followed us from the Ice Cream Shop as well as those from the neighborhood applauded me for mt heroism but this one thing you can definite be assured of and that is, I didn’t ac-cept the glory for what God deserves. All the neighbors failed to respond to the boy because he was known for crying wolf. Being deaf and dumb he had no friends so to get attention he pulled a lot of cranks but this nearly cost his five year old brother his life when he broke the key inside the lock of the freezer. Today John and Ron are my stepbrothers, their father and my mother are both happily married. Although John’s handi-cap is worse than mine, the three of us are the best of friends along with many others in the Lord. John no longer cries wolf, he now cries out to God. The Bible tells us “...that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Although these stories are fiction, they are written with hopes of inspiring the hopeless to come to trust God and that they may know Him and the power of His undying love for all. Thank you for reading, I hope they are being a blessing to you. In His Love, Minister Jimmy Brigham # 746533, Souls Survivors Ministries Eastham Unit, 2665 Prison Rd. #1, Lovelady, TX 75851

“RESPONSE TO MR. WILLIAM CONNOR”

Mr. Connor, thank you so much for your blessing. I found your article “Long Way From Freedom” quite interesting in light of my background. From 1993 up until about 2005, I aspired to be the best “Revolutionary” I could be, unafraid to confront the “pigs” as I use to call them, and quick to go to lock up if need be. I consumed African and African-American history, as well as classics like “They came before Co-lumbus,” “Before the Mayflower”, “Destruction of Black Civilization”, “Soul on Ice”, “Blood in my Eye”, “Taste of Power”, and “Soledad Brothers”. This literature not only broadened my knowledge and intelli-gence, but also caused my hate and bitterness to grow concerning the plight of those of us in the “class struggle”. In the end, nothing changed. I soon learned that white racism was woven into the very fabric of America, I and my own, had propagated and contributed to our own destruction and stagnation. I gained freedom, even while incarcerated, August 23, 2008 through my acceptance of Jesus Christ. It was only then that I learned that until Christ comes back, the “struggle” will continue and that my focus should be on telling others about Christ instead of trying to fix what can only be fixed by Christ. (John 16:33, 2 Timothy 3:12, Ecclesiastes 8:9, 11-13, Romans 10:13-15). In conclusion, I still teach the history of the struggle if one wants to know, however, being rooted and grounded in Christ is number one priority. When Gods grace gets us to that point, other things become less important. God Bless you and yours brother. In His Service, Yuri Luckette Active Frontline Ministries Beto One

“HIS LOVE”

His love is written all across the sky; and the mountains high above the sea His love is painted upon this vast land; in the many beautiful things we see

His love is engraved upon His many creations; and shines through every Christian eye His love is for His faithful people; who loves and trusts Him by and by

His love is what keeps mankind alive; for He commands us, “Be fruitful and multiply” His love should leave no questions within; none should wonder why

His love sustains through the hardest of times; when we feel we can’t go on His love is what heals when our bodies are sick; it serves to make us strong His love is a light within our darkest hour; a cool breeze when the day is hot

His love is the reason we awaken each day; and embark on our daily lot His love is so special and precious indeed; that no life can proceed without

His love is so full of mercy and grace; that it leaves no room for doubt His love is not hidden from none on earth; but the choice is yours to make

His love was magnified on the cross at Calvary; where He suffered and died for our sake.

“GOD’S PLAN”

To my brothers in white let me tell you a true story. But first, I want to thank my sister in Christ Shy, Happy Birthday-thank the whole BIC Family. I love all you guys. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God. We don’t always see God’s plan. In 1999 I was arrested after being out for 9 months. I received a fresh 30 years and I was 25 years old and went straight to high security 22 hours lock down after 17 days in population. Genesis 50:20 But as for you, you thought evil against me: but God meant it unto good to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. I didn’t know God’s plan at that time. Around 2001 or 2002 I received a letter & card from BIC, never heard of them, didn’t know how they even got my address. I was fighting my case. I had pushed my wife away, didn’t have $ or no one to check on me. I was not happy! At this point in my life I didn’t even believe there was a God. All I had on my mind was beating my appeals and go show them all I didn’t need them. I just didn’t know God’s plan. 2006 I started the Islam faith and I worked my way up in leadership so in between service I use to speak with a brother in Christ’s body. At this time BIC was still sending my cards and letters with these encouraging words like “keep the faith”, “Jesus loves you”, “We’re praying for you”, “God knows you”. All these sweet, helping words. Then they would sign them. So I began to recognize the names and say “thank you” quietly to myself. one month I received a card and letter and Ms. Susan asked if I knew her son JT Davis on the unit I was on. I asked around a bit, and I’ll never forget this… I ask the brother I used to talk to who was in the Body of Christ and he looked at me and said: “Mike that’s me bro. and that’s my mom!” aw man, that was a good feeling! See, I didn't know God’s plan. Jeremiah 29:11-15 NIV for I know that plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you declares the Lord and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you, declares the Lord, and will bring you back to the place from which I car-ried you into exile. I didn’t know God’s plan for me at all. 2010 in Lubbock TX I rededicated my life to Christ at a Kairos walk and from that walk I received an application for my wife to attend Kairos Outside for Women. This was in Staten TX minutes away from Lubbock TX; soon my wife was connected with Kairos of North Texas where we stay. See, still I didn’t know God’s plan. My wife helped on the inventory team, the agape team, and spoke at the closing in Hutchins State Jail. Kairos (#)? 2011 my wife had a meeting at Saturn Road Church and when she told me the address I said “Hey I know those people excit-ingly!.” We talked and crossed referenced people names that was there whom I knew. I was really happy about this because my wife had actually met and seen people I’ve known for years. She got a chance to ride on the van my sister Liz Compton drives and she got a chance to meet all my family in Christ. I ask her if she knew Ms. Susan and she said that Ms. Susan was at her table at the first meeting at the church. I was so excited to tears because I just couldn’t see none of this in 2001 or 2002 when I got my first letter and card. I just couldn’t see God’s plan. JT my brother in Christ, Kurtis my brother in Christ I love you’ll for be-ing my true brothers and Kurtis trust me bro. you don’t want to go to “Ms. Pankies” ( LOL) “as you say”. Shy, you’re unbelievable! Thank you sis. I could never-ever forget the genuine love and support you’ve shown me and my family. Liz, I love you Big Sis without you coming into my life with your ministry none of this would be happening. Thank you. I just didn’t see God’s plan. Our God is an awesome God. Brothers in white, you might not see it right now, wives you might not see it right now, but God has a plan for us just as He did for Moses. God knew Moses was the chosen one! Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

*BROKEN SPIRIT*

Sometimes the spirit of God can be broken by how and what a brother or sister may say to one who stumble and fell back into sin. Those brothers or sisters don’t realize how what they say may break one’s spirit. The harsh words can break one’s spirit, because of not showing the love of God; they talk down to one which sometimes cause them to have a broken spirit. My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows and their tongue a sharp sword (Psalm 57:1). We need to be careful that exposure to those situation does not lead us to embracing ungodly philosophies. We all would mature faster by following the divine pattern Psalm 1:1. Let God’s word fill our memory, rule our heart, and guide our lives. Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is the power of their hand (Micah 2:1). Most of us have some type of physical limitation, it may be something we’ve borne all our lives or one we’ve recently acquired “God is looking for someone weak enough to use, and He found [you and me]!” God’s strength is best seen in our weakness (1 Corinthians 12: 9). So lets watch our tongue that we don’t say something that will break one’s spirit, lets strengthen them with a kind word. Their tongue is an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceable to his neighbor with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait (Jeremiah 9:8) People are of great value to God. Those who don’t know Him are lost in their sins. To be found, first we must admit that we’re lost. Not only are we wonderfully made, but because of Christ’s death on the cross, we can also be wonderfully restored to a right relationship with God. Each person is a unique expression of God’s loving design!!! … Lord , please restrain our lips when we are tempted to say what we shouldn’t say about people made in Your image. Use our words to bless and not harm; may we reflect Your heart… If we are Christian, remember that people judge our Lord by us… Praying for you all May God Bless You Joseph Junior Evans #604541 Michael Unit Lord Jesus Christ Ministries

HEALED & FORGIVEN

First, I would like to give all praise and honor to God because He is truly worthy. Every month I look for-ward to receiving my newsletter because I know there is a word from God just for me. When I received my June issue, that word was on the second page. It was about “Forgiveness”. Prior to receiving it, I had been going through various trials and test. I managed to fail them all, because I felt these people didn’t deserve forgiveness. After 2 years I was finally able to release those people I had unforgiveness towards! Bro. Virgil Wilson you are right! Unforgiveness is like a cancer, and I almost let it kill me. I like those people didn’t deserve forgiveness. But God forgave me, so who am I to not forgive others? I realized that not only had that unforgiveness hindered my blessings, and prayer but also my need to be forgiven (Mark 11:24-26). I thank God for the message because it was the start of healing for me. I ask that my brothers and sisters in Christ pray for me. The devil has really been after me. Seems like the closer I get to God, the more he tries to come in and take from me. I’ve been incarcerated 2 years now, and being a first time offender it gets hard. But God’s grace is sufficient for me. God bless you all, this ministry. and your loved ones. Kristen Bonnee #1720910 Hobby Unit 742 FM 712 Marlin, TX 76661

Please be encouraged God loves us all. I have found it to be true too. My Hope, Oh Lord is in You and with confidence I wait knowing that if I faint not, the promises will come to pass. God is faith-ful and His words are true. Oh, if you would try (taste and see) that The Lord is Good. The bible says to go into your secret closet( who is there you and God) ask what you will and He will answer (reward you openly). Please try, please ask, please believe and stop asking people for advice that are carnal (walking by what they see, feel, and hear) seek Godly counsel and that will challenge you to be the best you can be with God's help. We walk by faith not by sight and God has a greater plan than what you think. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Please believe He has you on His mind and that you are important to Him. He wishes that no one be lost or left behind and He created so much for you to enjoy and gave so much for you to live. Question Are you living your life to the fullest??????? Are You lining your life up with The Word of God? Read, study, compare your ways to God's ways. Get understanding of what your reading. If it is not lining up with The Word of God, if not you are going the wrong way, The words says you know the way but sometimes we want to do our own thing that always leads to disobedience and heartache and well if your sad, mad, or depressed, check your thinking. It needs to go into renewal mode. Romans 12:1-2 , If questions about wrong way~ Read I Corinthians 6: 9-11 may be an indication of wrong way, just of list of defrauding one another, thieves, fornicators, idolaters (just an indication of wrong thinking motives and desires). God looks at the heart and you can’t hide so decide today who's side are your really on. God's or Satan's????????? You choose daily!!!!!!!!!! Mr. & Mrs. Andrew & Lori Charlton

DID YOU KNOW?

BIBLICAL HUMOR

The Picnic A Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic Priest met at the town's annual 4th of July picnic. Old friends, they began their usual banter. "This baked ham is really delicious," the priest teased the rabbi. "You really ought to try it. I know it's against your religion, but I can't understand why such a wonderful food should be forbidden! You don't know what you're missing. You just haven't lived until you've tried Mrs. Hall's prized Virginia Baked Ham. Tell me, Rabbi, when are you going to break down and try it?" The rabbi looked at the priest with a big grin, and said, "At your wedding."

TRUTH’S

Ask God, “Why you?”, when you’ve been “doing you”….and He’ll ask: “Where were you, while I was ‘doing’ for you”? Keep pushing God to the side, and He’ll be sure to push you to your knees. TRUTH: I can't be full of myself and full of God too. Somebody has to step back. And since I can’t do for me better than He can…. Easy choice.

TO MY WIFE MRS. AMBER A. JOHNSON,

In front of the eyes of I do not know how many witnesses will read this; I will make my vow and covenant in writing for you to know. My beautiful wife Amber, June 20, 2012 we were united in holy matrimony. God has entrusted me with His special treasure. I will carry out to be that Ephesians 5:25-33 husband to you. I will love you just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her. I will love you as I love myself, your body I will treat as my body, you will always come before me my wife, when I think about my-self I will think about you. I know I’m the one in particular to love you, my own wife, as myself. You can expect your husband to always look out for your best interest: spiritually, mentally and physically. I will always build you up spiritually, teaching you what God has taught me; and lead you spiritually, for me and you, we will serve the Lord! Amber, my loving wife, you will be on my mind all the time. I will think of you in everything I do. I will stimulate you mentally by giving you things to think about. I will always support you and embrace your emotions, love you more because of you being an emotional person. I will tell you how I feel about you always that I love you and desire you. I will let you know what’s going on in-side of me at all times. We are one now, and you will know me better than anyone else on this earth. I will open up to you unlike I’ve ever open up to anyone else. I will satisfy your affectionate nature, I will kiss you every chance I get, caress you every moment I can. Amber, I will be passionate, gentle and unself-ish when it comes to you and your wants and needs. What we experienced in our 3 years before this beau-tiful oneness is only the stairway to God’s purpose and plan for our lives together. We will be a light unto all who see’s our marriage. Baby, we were formed, fashioned and built by God! I will be a husband that you will be proud of, love to talk about, brag about, and love being loved by - I will be that Godly husband that God gave unto you. Mrs. Amber Johnson this is my vow and covenant I say so all might be a witness of my heart unto you. ~Love you, Your Husband Rev. Darnell Johnson
