– Participants position themselves into the quadrants where they are based or working in

Group work 1: (20 min.) What are key characteristics of the different places?

Presentation in the plenary of key findings on pin board (20 min.)

Group work 2: (20 min.) What are key requirements and ideas for initiatives to promote

Context matters!

Different complex situations require different entry points for support. Do we understand the complex context of the city/space?

Context considerations

Context matters in regions and locations ! Context differs in spaces !

– Different realities

– Different complex interrelations between people

– Different behaviour patterns

– Different belief systems

– Different boundaries of change

– Different opportunities for change

– Different

Questions

What are the characteristics of different territories or spaces?

– What are dominant belief systems?– What are dominant patterns of behaviour? – Who are outliers in the system who do things

differently?

What are the requirements to promote change in these different spaces?

– e.g. „With whom to start and whom to involve?“– e.g. „Where to focus on?“

Entry points for change? – concrete short-term initiatives?– What could be safe to fail experiments?

Matrix of the 4 kinds of spaces

Simplified model to

– reflect on different characteristics

– Identify different dynamics and intervention requirements

– Promote the reflection on targeted initiatives for change

not tackle key

challenges !
