Lesson Plan: Have you ever thought of becoming an actor?

Level: 4th grade highschoool

Date: Time: Length: 90 minutes Teacher:Arnoldo Cabrera

Aims: At the end of the lesson students will be able to create a dialog asking information question about past experiences, to enhance communication.

Assumed Knowledge: Present perfect tense, language related to jobs, or hobbies.

Anticipated problems: Problems concerning grammar, misinterpretation of the instructions. Some Ss may not find a partner.

… and solutions: T hands a worksheet, with the instructions presented on the ppt. T is prepared to answer questions. In case of Ss withouth a partner, analyze the situation and, include him/her to other group, or another alone student.

Aids: PPT, worksheet, sheets.

- T introduces the topic by displaying the ppt on the screen, asking the question “Have you ever thought of becoming an actor?” and then questions such as; What would you ask to an important person?

- T states the aim saying; today you will create a dialog, between an important person to you and an interviewer, to know information about the interviewee relating his or her past experiences.

- T presents the taskYou have to find a partner, and together you have to create a character with an interesting life. Then you have to create information questions using present perfect. After that you have to give an answer to those questions as you were that character. Next to that, you have to set a context so you can create a dialogue, make sure you add an introduction and a closure. In order to make sure everything is ok, check spelling mistakes with me. Finally, you will present your dialogue in front of the class as you will become actors; one of you will be the interesting character and the other will be the interviewer.

Requisites:

- At the end of the class, you have to perform your dialog.

- Make sure that you include an introduction and a closure.

- The limit of questions is no less than 5 no more than 8.

- You will hand me your worksheet with both of your names and your grade.
