The chapter had a whole day of fun on June 8, 2014 as it culmi-nated its Sports Fest that began last May 12.
The day being a Sunday began with a Holy Mass with Fr. Martin Ilozue, CSSp celebrating.
BYOP Breakfast then followed while the teams prepared for the Cheer Dance competition. The com-
peting teams were: Unit Manuel in their yellow shirts, Unit Pardico in royal blue, Unit Calayag in green shirts and unit Sanchez in red.
Unit Manuel, won the cheer dance contest and garnered the highest points for winning almost all of the ball games. The group was the sports fest’s overall cham-pion. It had the most number of members in attendance on that fun filled culmination day.
Coming in second is Unit Pardico with 210 points. It won most of the

Prayer does change things. It changes us, it helps us to see things thru Gods eyes. It gives us
superhuman courage and mold us into champions God can use.

Unit Sanchez did their fellowship at Agus Hotel by the pool side. They affair was graced by Fr. Martin and company.
Unit Calayag is yet to do their fellowship sometime this month.
These beaut i fu l bonding moments are what brothers and sis-ter do in the community to strengthen relation-
ships not only among each other but also with the members of the family. Children get to know other chil-dren and get bonded as they play games, sing songs, dance to the latest beat and just being there observing the activities.
For those who miss the fellowships join us next time.
Intercessory Visits the Shrine of Bishop Camomot
On June 10, 2014, Tuesday, 18 members of the Intercessory Group visited the tomb of Msgr. Teofilo Camomot at Daughters of Saint Teresa Monastery, Valla-dolid, Carcar. We were welcomed by Sr. Helen who gave us a tour around the place and as we explored it,
we were in awe of its atmosphere's holiness. Barefooted, we had seen Msgr. Camomot's tomb and some of his relics situated in a well kept room behind his tomb. Other than his relics,

there were also copies of the endorsements, testimo-nials, and proofs of rais-ing him to the high altars of sainthood.
Sr. Helen told us some stories and virtues of of the late bishop. Among those was that, it was he who founded the Daugh-ters of Saint Teresa, the reason why the congrega-
tion requested to have his remains in the said mon-astery
Before we left the place, we had a group prayer for his intentions using the prayer card placed near his tomb. We
also had mentioned our own intentions in the prayer, as well as our sick brothers and sisters in the community. We are so blessed to have visited the late bishop's remains and relics while they are still here within our reach.

Faithful servants never retire. They serve faithfully as long as they’re alive. You can retire from
your career but never from serving God .

Life continues whatever happens. All we need is to be positive and be brave with all the challenges
we encounter. Faith in God is still the best armor.
The Church: Wheel of Transformation
It was the Vatican II documents that described the Church as people that gather, no more in terms of hierarchy but in the collective membership of the people of God. The various forms of ministry and leadership exercised are seen as both essential and important element of the people of God working for the benefit of all the members. Hence the Church that gathers become the body of
Christ intended for the transformation of all the members, to emphasize more on the need for the people of God to become communities that gather to worship and not just once a week affair. Brad Watson was quoted as saying; “we worked hard to re-wire Christians from thinking of church as an event, a build-ing, and a time-slot. We emphasized the church as God’s people, saved by God’s power for God’s purposes. We taught folks their new identity in Christ and how identity couldn’t be constrained to a time-slot but was all of life. We stressed, very accurately, that discipleship is life-on-life, on mission and in com-munity. We showed folks, from the Scriptures, how the Church cannot be con-fined to a once-a-week meeting. We taught people that evangelism, shepherd-ing, teaching, and discipleship happens best out in neighborhoods, over meals, in gardens, at work, and the everyday normal pieces of life”. (Brad Watson)
Now having known why we go to church, it is important to know how the church can transform us through the liturgical practices and devotions. The Church stands out as a wheel leading us to what God wanted us to be and how to be transformed in Christ. Watson continues to present to us the value of being in the Church and its effects in the life of believers. “Gatherings reorients our worship. Our hearts respond and proclaim truth we believe and struggle to believe. We are challenged and invited to worship the one true God. In many cases, the sing-ing, taking in communion, hearing the scriptures taught, calls us to repentance and is the first act of repentance. We return to worshiping God instead of our-selves, other gods, and idols. Worship gatherings are rhythmic celebrations re-minding of who God is and what he has done”. (Brad Watson)
We are privileged therefore, knowing that the Church we belong to was pre-pared by Christ through the Apostles for our holiness and sanctification, thereby
transforming who we are from children of the dark to be children of light. The teaching of the Church which echoes the teaching of Christ and the liturgical and sacramental signs were designed to aid us in our thirst for the spiritual needs of our souls and knowing to conduct our lives. Hence the Church became the sacra-ment of Christ. Through it we learn and come to know how to prepare ourselves for the heavenly banquet in the life of the world to come.

Cebu Region Leaders Meet in Bogo
Cebu and Bogo Leaders
Jesus makes us brave when we are afraid; strong when we’re weak; but foremost, He teaches us to
carry our crosses daily and follow Him.
Homecoming
RCD Boy Villanueva together with some of Cebu region Chapter Heads travelled very early in the morning of June 28, 2014 to conduct their busi-ness meeting in Bogo. Bogo is an out-
reach of Mactan for 13 years.
They had their Breakfast in Bogo with Cebu Central CH Ani and Maritess Serrato as sharers. After the breakfast the group together with Bogo leaders had a tour of Bogo and its neighbor town, Medellin. Among those they visited are the BOMEDCO Sugar Central at Medellin and the Parish church of the famous and mi-raculous Our Lady of Remedy at Od-
lot, Bogo City.
From their tour, the group had lunch at a fast food resto and had their meeting there. They discussed, among others, the August 30 “Revelation” which is a Cebu region activity. Cebu chapters also pledge to support Bogo with breakfast sharers and resource
speakers.
We have been on our toes for the past weeks preparing for two big events.
Jun sits as one of the steer-ing committee members of his batch’s homecoming and reun-ion scheduled on July 13-14, 2014. I on the other hand is
working with my sisters pre-paring for our family reunion on July 18-20, 2014.
Pressures are high as the dates of these big events get closer. My daughter who sourced and designed all the T
-shirts, banners and other giveaways is the busiest among us.
While going through all the preparations I came to reflect on a homecoming that I must prepare very well, my heav-enly homecoming.
Often times we lose sight of the heavenly as we get tan-gled with earthly concerns. I praise God that He grounded our faith deeply.
Services in the community and parish remind us of God’s ever loving presence as we
depend always on His grace
to sustain us physically, emo-tionally and financially.
We too are very grateful for the gift of the Eucharist, which we partake each day, as our food for the journey to our final homecoming.

The finest hour in our lives is when we have done good things to nameless people without expecting
them to remember our acts of kindness and love.

Most of the things we desire are expensive. But the truth is that the things that really satisfy us are
free; love, joy, peace, laughter, family, true friends and, most of all, God’s love.
