Tashkent State University of Economics is considered as the base economic higher
education institution in the country.
In 1931 it was established in the name of Central Asian Finance and Economic Institute, and later was renamed as Tashkent Finance and
Economic Institute.
In 1962 Tashkent Finance and Economic Institute was reorganized to Tashkent Institute of
National Economy.
In 1991 according to the Presidential Decree
Tashkent Institute of National Economy
was given a status of Tashkent State
University of Economics.
The University is included in the structure
of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary
Specialized Education of Uzbekistan.
