TAMIU Ranked 4th as ‘Best Bang for
Buck Among Southern Colleges’
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) has
been ranked 4th for “Best Bang for Buck” among
the nation’s
Southern Schools by
Washington
Monthly Magazine
in its 2015 College
Guide, dubbed “The
Other College
Guide.” This is the
second year in a row that TAMIU has been so

TAMIU Offers Senior Citizens
‘Learning for Life”
“We never stop learning,” observed TAMIU
president Dr. Ray Keck, “and so a University campus
should warmly embrace
and create an
environment that makes
learning accessible and
fully engaging as we grow
older.” To that end, the
TAMIU “Learning for Life”
program provides Senior
Citizens age 65 or older
with opportunities to take classes at TAMIU at
virtually no cost. Read more.
Save the Date for AutMus Fest
Our 11th annual AutMus Fest will highlight a
diverse selection of artists. This year’s lineup will
feature the musical
styling’s of, Pesado,
Poder Del Norte, H2H
(AC/DC tribute band),
Brown Sabbath (Black
Sabbath tribute
band), Pancho Uresti,
Chon Arauza, Sonido Master, and Kimberly Dunn.
For the first time since its creation, the TAMIU
Alumni Association will partner with the Laredo
Energy Arena (LEA) and R Communications to
present one of our longstanding traditions.

William Bailey, ’85
William Bailey resides in Las Vegas, Nevada where he has published a novel, Sketching
Yomachtia Man. His novel examines the modern world of Mexico City through the eyes of
a hero—a young boy growing up in a world of poverty, and negative lifestyle influences—
and his teen friends.
William graduated from the former Laredo State University (LSU) with a Master of
Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology.
Tina Mansinghani, ’08 After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from TAMIU, Tina Mansinghani went
on to receive a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.
Tina was just selected as Coordinator of Analytics and Team Business Services for the
American Hockey League. For the past three seasons, she has worked with the Central
Hockey League’s (CHL) front office. She has previously worked with team front offices in
CHL, the National Hockey League’s Arizona Coyotes and the National Football League’s
Arizona Cardinals.
“The classroom needs to be centered around the students, and I did my best to provide that
safe, empowering environment where my students would thrive and succeed.”
This past year Andrea L. Pawelek earned the title of United Independent School District
Elementary Teacher of the Year. Now, Andrea is taking on the role of Program Director for
TAMIU’s Literacy Partnership. As Program Director, Andrea is able to work closely with
teachers at the campuses they oversee to build and strengthen their literacy partnership.
Andrea graduated from TAMIU with a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a
Minor in Reading.
Andrea L. Pawelek, ’10
Charles W.T. Browne currently resides in his hometown of St. John’s in the Caribbean.
He teaches Physical Education in one of the largest high schools on the Island, Princess
Margaret Secondary School. He also teaches tennis lessons at another high school,
St. Anthony’s Secondary School.
Charles holds a Bachelor of Science in Fitness and Sports and plans to obtain a master’s
degree sometime in the future.

Roger C. Rocha, Jr., ’93, ’10
“Keep following your goals in life. Whatever career paths we choose to take it’s important
to remember the foundations that we learned at TAMIU, both in and out of the classroom.”
Roger C. Rocha has been elected to serve as League of United Latin American Citizens
(LULAC) National President. Roger has gone on to serve on the LULAC National Board, The
LULAC National Education Service Centers Board of Directors, The Ser Jobs for Progress
National Board of Directors and The Laredo Next Generation Rotary Club Board of
Directors.
Roger earned a Bachelor of History with a Minor in Political Science from LSU, followed by
a Master of Business Administration from TAMIU.
