WELCOMEWelcome to Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and Discover TAMIU: The Official Dust-devil Open House!

We are excited to host this event and welcome the entire Texas commu-nity to discover “The In-ternational U.”

Children will have the opportunity to take part

in hands-on activities in our musical sessions, color-ful performances, and challenging brain twisters; teens will experience what it takes to become a true Dustdevil and learn how to conquer the world with education and a little motivation; parents and college readiness professionals will be taken through a whirlwind of useful information that will prepare them to be college-savvy; and commu-nity members will have a chance to meet our gift-ed faculty, students and the leaders of tomorrow.

We’re excited to share with you a special place we call home.

Gina De La Miyar GonzalezChair, Discover TAMIU 2015

Using the lots at the University Village and the Residential Learning Community should be avoided as these are reserved for students living in these complexes.

P

After dropping off students in the designated area, all buses should depart and use the parking lot at the Zaffirini Success Center (University Success Center) located on the south side of campus.

PB

INFORMATION CENTERS

Information Centers will be located throughout campus to help guests and visitors navigate their way through campus and provide information on programs and activities. These centers will be denoted with a on the map for easy guidance. Each center can provide general information on the nearest restroom facilities, building locations, and a printed program schedule.

i

Rain, shine, cold, or hot is nothing new to TAMIU and activities and programs will continue as planned across campus. Most events will continue in their designated areas, but some may be moved to alternate locations. In case of movements or changes, signs will be posted at the original location indicating where the activity has moved.

RAIN PLAN

Restroom facilities can be found in every campus building and on each floor.

RESTROOMSWC

A first aid station can be found in the Student Center facing the parking lot to the west. It will be available for minor injuries and will help coordinate efforts should an emergency arise.

FIRST AID

Deer, javelinas, birds and other wildlife are frequently seen throughout campus. Please remember that these animals are in their habitat and should not be considered to be tame, as friendly as they appear. While we welcome you to take pictures of them, take precaution to not get too close or chase them, as they may feel threatened. Extra measures should be taken with children who may confuse them with pets.
