The Life of Margaret ThatcherMargaret Hilda Roberts now known as Margaret Hilda Thatcher was born on October 13,1925; in Lincolnshire, England. Her mother Beatrice Roberts Nee Stephenson was also born and raised in Lincolnshire, and her father Alfred Roberts is from Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. Thatcher and her older sister Muriel Joyce Roberts had a close relationship, but they had a strict upbringing. Margaret attended Huntingtower Road Primary School, and at the age of 10 she won a scholarship to Kensteven and Grantham Girl’s High School; later she went to Somerville, Oxford University. Because Margaret Thatcher's home and early life in Grantham, it helped play a large part in forming her political convictions. Therefore, Grantham was the start of her career and it helped give a push into politics.

How Margret Thatcher Began and Ended

Margaret Thatcher began as a young activist in politics, by running errands for the local Conservative party during election

campaigns. In her mid-twenties she ran as the Conservative candidate for the strong Labour seat of Dartford at the GeneralElections of 1950 and 1951, winning national publicity as the

youngest woman candidate in the country. She lost both times, butcut the Labour majority and enjoyed the experience of campaigning. Unlike many Conservatives that time, she had little difficulty gettinga hearing from any audience and she spoke easily, with force and

confidence, on issues that mattered to the voters. For the last quarter century Margaret Thatcher has been one of theworld's most influential and respected political leaders, as well as

one of the most controversial and dynamic speaker. June 1970 Margaret was appointed secretary of state for education and science.

Next, after her job as a secretary, in May Thatcher may history of being the first female prime minister of Great Britain.

Although Margaret Thatcher has had many accomplishments in her life, We believe that she should be admired . She should be admired because throughout her career, she successfully shifted the British economy and the foreign. Thatcher also in the year of 1980’s-1990’s , she ended the Cold War and spread the word of democracy. Lastly she strengthen the political and economic freedom in every continent. By all these accomplishments, we believe that she is a positive influence to young women. We say this because by seeing her do all these wonderful things throughout her lifetime, it makes young women want to follow her lead . Margaret shows the strengthen that every women should have and how to become a leader. We believe that this is what a real strong woman looks like.
