Announcing our new name

Since 1936, thousands of General Electric Transportation employees and families in our region have turned to Erie General Electric Federal Credit Union for reliable financial services. In recent years, our membership has blossomed to include the entire community. Through it all, a firm commitment to service has remained the hallmark of our business. We have chosen to change our name to one that is more inclusive of our entire membership. Our new name mirrors the great region that we’re all proud to call home! The name Widget is a tribute to anyone who has ever fastened a part to a machine, or worked in the educational, healthcare or technology fields. Widget Financial is here for anyone in Erie or Crawford County who works hard for their money, day in, and day out!

What will change

Along with the name change to Widget Financial, the look of our advertising materials will change. The new branding employs characters named Widgey and Sprock coupled with an informal font representative of our fun, family-focused and sophisticated style.

What will not change

Both during and after this transition period, the credit union’s commitment to providing you with exceptional, personalized service will not change. We will continue to act as a responsible organization in our community. We will grow our membership base in order to provide each Credit Union member with the highest quality financial services at the best possible rates and lowest fees!
