ExecutionDepending on the specification of the vehicle when it is ordered, the vehicle is deliv-ered with one of the following tail lamps:

• Compact 7-chamber lamp assembly• LED lamp• Standard 7-chamber lamp (up to 2013-07-01).

Tail lamps are always delivered from the factory fully fitted.

Note:Lamps fitted by bodybuilders must be certified in order for the vehicle to achieve type approval.

The compact 7-chamber lamp dimensions are 400 x 160 x 89 mm (width x height x depth). In addition, 50 mm of lateral clearance towards the centre is required for the electrical connection.

Tail lamps with connection on the rear can be ordered as an S-order or FFU. Contact a Scania dealer for more information.

The lamp can also be purchased as a spare part.

FittingTail lamps can be fitted as follows:

• On standard bracket.• In underrun protection.

If positioning the tail lamps in the underrun protection, they must be fitted in a fixed underrun protection with U-profile.

When the lamps are ordered with an extra long cable harness (600 and 1,200 mm ex-tension) they can be positioned on the box bodywork without the need for the cable harness to be spliced. The standard length cable harness is tailored so that the tail lamps can be positioned in the standard brackets.

50 mm of lateral clearance towards the centre is required for the electrical connec-tion. This does not apply to lamps with connection on the rear.

Tail lamps must fulfil several legal requirements related to factors such as visibility and viewing angles. Be sure to comply with national legal provisions.

Tail lamp fitted in the underrun protectionThe tail lamp can be located in the underrun protection with a U-profile. The under-run protection1 protects the tail lamps during dumping or the like.

Other equipmentLength of the cable harnessSelect the extended cable harness for the tail lamps if their location is changed when the bodywork is finished. The options for an extended cable harness are 600 and 1,200 mm, respectively.

Retro-reflector in accordance with ECE-R70If the tail lamps are located on the underrun protection a red and yellow striped retro-reflector, in accordance with ECE-R70, can be selected for fitting to the underrun protection (as illustrated).
