The TTRA Where did it start? • A Residents Group was originally launched

in1975 when Taff Housing Association was established which later was named TTRA.

• Taff Tenants wanted to form an action group to:

• Resolve problems in the community, such as street lighting.

• Provided social events & organised trips and parties.

• The first meetings were held in Wells Street (Taff Office) & Alexandra Court.

AIMS OF THE TTRA AIMS AND OBJECTIVES • Taff Tenants & Residents Association will

seek to represent all local residents and tenants and promote the exercise of tenants’ rights in the maintenance and management of their homes.

• Taff Tenants & Residents Association will seek to encourage recreation and social activities which will be open to all members.

• To identify problems within any local area, and to assist in promoting a positive and caring community.

• To offer support to new Tenants.

• Annual Children’s EID Party • Annual Summer Trip • Annual Children’s Christmas Party. • Fund Raising at Riverside Festival

Time for a Change 2013 Review

• To be organised & run by Tenants. • To provide informal tea/coffee

afternoon’s once a month. • Members to bring information about

Courses or events in their communities. • Raise money for the TTRA & local

charities.

Proposed Changes to Current

Group Constitution.

• Membership – Group should be open to any Taff Tenant & people in the wider community but a majority of Taff Tenants at all times.

• Officers – Vice Chair Role within group. • Meetings – change every month, take out

Youth Sub Group.

The Way Forward

• Group to organise publicity. • The group need more members to join. • The group need Volunteers to come

forward for positions such as Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary & Treasurer to enable the group to move forward.

Group Meetings • The group to organize monthly meetings. • Any personal news members want to

share. • Group to organize refreshments, Bring

cakes, biscuits to meetings. • Share recipes and learn about food &

recipes from different cultures.

Suggested Events/Trips etc. • Group to continue to organise Trips in

summer & maybe earlier in the year. Suggestions: Aqua Dome, Tenby/Folly Farm, Weston Super-Mare, Trip to a Zoo, Eden Project, Christmas Market or Shopping outlet. • Organise an annual Adult Celebration

Party. • Group to continue to provide Children’s

EID/Christmas Party.
