The Transfer Center is the place to get information on making the transition from associate’s degree
studies at Cincinnati State to a bachelor’s degree. Students can meet with representatives from area
colleges and universities, get information about transfer events, and learn more about articulation
agreements with our partner institutions.
Special College Incentives
UC Pathway Advising Center – Cincinnati State students can utilize this service, on the University
of Cincinnati campus, to receive guidance on what courses are the best for their future major.
CState2NKU – This is a dual enrollment program for CState students intending to transfer to Northern
Kentucky University. This provides a number of benefits such as guidance from NKU advisors, and
access to student services at NKU. Cincinnati State graduates participating in the NKU Pathway are
eligible for the Kentucky in-state tuition rate.
Connect with the Mount – This on-campus partnership provides access to Mount St. Joseph

Bachelor Bound
Interested in a bachelor’s degree? It all starts here with
transferable credit.
Enroll in one of our transfer programs such as our
Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Pre-Business
Administration, Pre-Engineering, and Pre-Nutrition Science.
These programs are especially designed with a bachelor’s
degree in mind, so you can easily transfer your credit to
a four-year institution. These degrees feature directed
electives that allow you to build towards a wide range
of bachelor’s degrees.

Business
As your community college, Cincinnati State offers
specialized training programs to meet the employment
needs of our region. Cincinnati needs people skilled in
the areas of accounting, financial services, landscape and
horticulture, marketing, management, office professionals,
and paralegal. Each business degree and certificate
program is designed in collaboration with an advisory
board of professionals from Greater Cincinnati’s leading
companies. You will receive relevant industry experience
from our highly qualified faculty and resume building
experience through our cooperative education program.

Culinary
Within our Midwest Culinary Institute, you will find
nationally-ranked culinary and pastry arts programs

Our hospitality management program provides the
business foundations to not only get a job in the hotel
and restaurant industries, but also to become a successful
manager. Brewing Science answers Cincinnati’s call for
brewmasters and managers for this emerging local industry.

Computers
Information technology is one of the fastest growing
industries in the country, and Cincinnati is no exception.
Get hands-on training for information and technology
related careers from computer hardware, computer support,
and programming to network administration, cyber-security
and management. Our faculty continue to work with our
city’s industry leaders and local businesses to prepare
students for high-tech careers.
Education & Service
If you are interested in education and service fields, our Early Childhood
Education program will prepare you for the Pre-Kindergarten Associate
Teacher License offered by the Ohio Department of Education. The
Interpreter Training program regularly interacts with members of the deaf
community throughout the area, while preparing graduates to serve as
skilled sign language interpreters in a variety of settings. The Human and
Social Services program as well as certificates in Addiction Studies will
introduce you to career possibilities related to social services and
criminal justice.
Engineering
Technology has transformed the manufacturing industry, and today’s job
applicants need specialized education to meet emerging market demands.
Cincinnati State’s engineering technology programs have kept up with these
needs. You can choose from such core disciplines as bioscience, chemical,
civil, construction, electrical, and mechanical engineering technologies,
as well as welding. You may also be interested in our Bachelor of Applied
Science in Land Surveying.
Environment
Cincinnati State is a regional leader in preparing students for careers
in environmental fields such as environmental engineering as well as
sustainable agriculture and landscape horticulture. Partnerships with
local agencies such as the Metropolitan Sewer District and Cincinnati
Water Works help to make our programs in wastewater and stormwater
management among the best in the area. Students in our Environmental
Engineering Technology programs, and in our horticulture and landscape
design programs, routinely compete successfully against peers from four-
year colleges in regional events.
Health & Wellness
Cincinnati State is one of southwest Ohio’s leaders in accredited allied
healthcare education. Whether you’re interested in direct patient care
such as nursing, sonography, surgical technology, or occupational therapy
or excited about a job involving healthcare technologies such as health
information management or laboratory assistants, we have the program for
you. We also have formal agreements with many other universities to help
you transfer your applicable credits toward a bachelor’s degree. Caring
and dedicated faculty, and applied learning in and outside the classroom,
contributes to our students’ consistently high pass rate on national and
state certification exams.
If fitness is your passion, our Exercise Science program has kept pace.
We offer versatile personal trainer and group fitness instructor certification

programs that prepare students to pass national certification exams, and
open doors for employment at health clubs, corporate fitness centers,
aerobic studios, or recreation programs.
Enhance your degree with one of our many health and fitness certificates,
such as Addiction Studies, Community Health Worker, Patient Care Assistant
or even Group Fitness Instructor or Yoga Teacher Training.
Multimedia & Design
Our multimedia and design programs will prepare you to work in an exciting
and growing field that combines creativity and technology, with degree
and certificate programs such as graphic and web design or audio and
video production. You will utilize the latest equipment, which includes our
HD video studio and our state-of-the art audio recording studio. Every year
students from our program compete successfully in regional design and
video competitions against peers from four-year institutions.
Public Safety
If you are seeking a career to serve your community and work in a
uniquely rewarding field, Cincinnati State offers a full range of public
safety programs. Students will be prepared to enter the field as EMTs,
paramedics, or firefighters. Our leadership programs help working
professionals advance their careers.
Transportation
While the need for good auto technicians hasn’t changed, the technical
knowledge required to be one has. CState’s automotive service programs
combine classroom training with hands-on lab work in and outside the
classroom with our co-op program. Our degree and certificate programs
give students the technical skills needed to earn professional certifications
as well as important foundations in automotive service management.
We also prepare students for careers in aircraft maintenance with FAA-
approved degree and certificate programs in aviation mechanics. Aviation-
related programs are housed at our West Campus in Harrison.
Our degree and certificate programs in Supply Chain Management prepare
students to oversee interconnected businesses by coordinating activities
among suppliers, warehousing operations, shipping, and customers.

The Workforce Development Center (WDC) at Cincinnati State provides high-value short-term credentials and certificates.
Developed through extensive collaboration with local business and industry, these programs are designed to enhance your
current skills to become marketable in the workplace. WDC offers a variety of courses and program in several in-demand
disciplines, including Industrial Maintenance, Health Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Information Technology, HAZMAT
Rescue and Safety, Logistics, Professional Development.
WDC courses are offered at Cincinnati State’s
Workforce Development Center located in Evendale.
Most of the WDC programs are offered in person or
online in an accelerated format to allow students to
finish quickly and use their new skills in the workplace
immediately.
WDC partners extensively with regional industries and
organization to identify and develop new training to
respond to workforce needs. As part of this effort, WDC
also offers customized, hands-on training programs.
Through WDC, students work to transform the region’s
workforce in preparation for the jobs of today and the
careers of tomorrow.

Fitness Center
Cincinnati State’s Fitness Center offers a full range of free
weights, resistance training, and cardiovascular training

Counseling Services
Licensed and professionally-trained counselors are available to perform
counseling and referral services to address needs and facilitate mental
health care for Cincinnati State students. All services and meetings are
kept confidential.
Disability Services
The Office of Disability Services offers a variety of academic support services
to qualified students with disabilities. These services include but are not limited
to counseling, assistive technology and listening devices, Braille materials,
in-class note takers, physical assistance, and sign language interpreting.
International Student Affairs
The Office of International Student Affairs helps students residing both outside
and inside the U.S. navigate the process of applying to Cincinnati State as an
international student, including guidance on visa issues, transcript translation,
and cultural adjustment.
Veterans
The Office of Veteran Student Affairs assists veterans, eligible dependents,
and reservists with their benefit eligibility counseling, claim filing, and referrals
to other campus and community services. Veteran Student Affairs also monitors
student degree plans.
LEARNING CENTERS
Cincinnati State’s learning centers offer one-on-one and small group academic
assistance, online and in-person. Appointments and walk-in help are available
for a variety of purposes:

in coursework
• Improve study skills, practice self-directed learning, and reduce test anxiety

Tutoring Center
The Tutoring Center helps students build academic strength and confidence with
individualized support in many subjects including accounting, computer skills,
economics, science, and more at Clifton and Middletown campuses.
Writing Center
The Writing Center provides individualized support to students in any course that
includes written assignments. Writing Center faculty are available for assistance
with essays, lab reports, resumes, and cover letters. The Writing Center enables
all students to achieve success by exploring ideas through writing.
Math Center
The Math Center provides one-on-one and group support to students from basic
math all the way through calculus. Math Center faculty assist students in building
foundations for success in all math and math-based courses, including statistics,
quantitative reasoning, physics, and chemistry. The Math Center prepares students for
success by helping students develop strong problem-solving skills and confidence.

APPLYING TOCINCINNATI STATE
To help make an education at Cincinnati State even more affordable, our Financial Aid Office works closely with current and prospective students to help them learn about and apply for available scholarships, loans, grants, and work-study programs. Scholarships – Scholarships are financial awards that do not require repayment.
Awards can be based on need, academic achievement, or other criteria that reflect
the values of the donor. Scholarships are available from Cincinnati State as well as
outside programs. The annual deadline to apply for Cincinnati State scholarships
is February 15.
Financial Aid – At the same time students apply to Cincinnati State, they may also
apply for financial aid. In order to be eligible to receive financial aid, students must
first submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, available online
at www.fafsa.gov. www.studentaid.gov. Use Cincinnati State’s Title IV Code (010345)
when filling out your FAFSA so that Cincinnati State’s Financial Aid Office receives
your information as well.
Federal Work Study – The Federal Work-Study Program provides part-time jobs on
campus for students with proven financial need, allowing them to earn money to
help pay for educational expenses.
Grants – Grants are need-based financial aid awards offered by state or federal
agencies that do not have to be repaid. Students who accept grants are usually
required to meet certain academic standards.
Loans – Loans must be paid back to the lender over a period of time. Loan programs
are sponsored by federal or state bodies or by private lenders.
ADVANCED STANDING & PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT
There are a number of ways for applicants to obtain advanced academic standing in their program:
• Transferring course credits earned at another regionally accredited college or university.
• Submitting scores from Advanced Placement or international examinations taken in high school.
• Credit is awarded for College Level Examination Program (CLEP) specific scores and subjects.
• Testing out of certain courses through Cincinnati State’s ‘test out’ procedures.
• Applying credit from applicable work experience, formal training programs or other certificates or licenses.
• Applying credit earned through local College Tech Prep agreements or a referral from a senior vocational teacher.
• Advanced Standing Credit is program specific and fees may apply.

Test scores are not required for admission to the college; however, they can be useful for advising purposes. Therefore, we encourage students who have taken the ACT or SAT within the past two years to request that their scores be included on their high school transcript or sent from the testing service.
