Dealer Responsibility Check List - items Must Be Checked-OffPhysically check the job site for accessibility of a 68’ Semi Tractor-Trailer. Our trailers require a height clearance of 13’6”. (This includes power lines, low tree branches, low overpasses, bridge or road weight or width limits). There must be ample space to turn around (NO CuL-DE-SACS, hairpin curves or extreme grades). We will not travel on dirt/gravel roads. Check for any other obstructions that will cause an accessibility problem.Two able-bodied people must be at the job site location to help unload the products from the trailer to the residence. Our drivers will be responsible for tailgating the products and assisting the Dealer Staff when necessary to unload large/heavy items.Upon Bertch/G.O.e. drivers 24 hour notification of delivery the dealer must make the necessary arrangements with the customer for a timely delivery. if contact cannot be made we reserve the right to return the products to Bertch Cabinet Mfg. and reschedule them on our next available truck. Dealer will accept additional charges if driver is not met as agreed and needs to reschedule.Any materials damaged during delivery on our trucks, requiring factory repair or replacement must be noted immediately and returned on the same truck. As the purchaser of this product, we want you to be fully informed of the characteristics below. We cannot produce the product without these characteristics, therefore it is important that you find them acceptable.

WOOD VARiATiONS

Some trees vary in color shades of white, pink, green, gray, and black. Some have even grain patterns; others can be quite wild. Some have worm tracks and pitch marks and mineral streaks. Some absorb stain readily; others practically refuse to absorb. Some tend to get darker and some considerably darker (especially Cherry) as time passes.

Most combinations of woods and finishes are seen com-monly, thus the final look is no surprise. There are a few combinations which are rarely enough seen that most people may be surprised by the aforementioned combination of independent characteristics and their effect on the visual appearance of the final wood product. Please see the Product Awareness Matrix for information on wood/color com-binations that should be explained to your customer.

RuSTiC WOODS

All natural characteristics of Rustic Woods may be repre-sented in this product which include the following character marks: Solid wood will have character marks such as large knots and wane. Other char-acteristics include: small pin knots, bird pecks, worm tracks, mineral stain, irregular figures in the grain, cracks that do not hurt the strength of the part, sap wood and cherry pitch marks. Cabinet face frames, plywood returns, Tri views, Oval Mirror and Medicine Cabinet, Wood Tops, Frieze valances, Wood Hoods (plywood compo-nents, scribe and outside corner moulding) will not be rustic.

Not available with solid color finishes due to the nature of open knots not accepting solid color finishes.

GLAZiNG

Glaze is a transparent finish material applied over the sealer which tones the overall appearance and highlights profiles and recessed areas creating an “antique” or “aged” look. This additional finishing step emphasizes joints, character marks and grain areas. A protective topcoat is applied over the glaze, which adds depth to the finish. Natural variations will be apparent on individual parts and within Jobs.

SHRiNkiNG AND SWELLiNG Shrinking and swelling occur as wood changes moisture content in response to daily (as well as seasonal) chang-es in the relative humidity of the environment to which the wood is exposed. When the air is humid, wood absorbs mois-ture and swells; when the air is dry, wood loses moisture and shrinks. This is a fundamental law of nature and is NOT a defect in materials or work-manship by Bertch Cabinet Mfg. Doors that swell and rub; center panels of doors that shrink and expose pre-stained areas; and miters that either open to the outside or widen on the inside at the joint are all examples of wood movement due to the consumer’s envi-ronment. These effects should be minimized by maintaining a moisture content in the home (or, where the cabinets are stored) between 30 and 40% relative humidity (temperature between 50 and 80 degrees F).

SOLiD COLOR FiNiSHES

TELEGRApHiNGThe solid finishes are applied to a solid wood face frame. Oak is an open or coarse grain wood. The grain will “tele-graph” or show visibly through-out the finish. Birch is a close or fine grain wood. Some “telegraphing” will occur, though the effect will be subtle.

JOiNT FRACTuREBecause wood is a product which is in a constant state of expansion and contraction, hairline fractures will very soon be noticeable at the joints on the cabinet face frame and doors. These will not weaken the finish, but they will be visible.

MiTER DOORS When mitered doors are painted with a solid color finish, the joints of the miter door will appear as the wood expands and contracts due to normal environmental changes.

Level 2 -- Completed in 16 Calender Days and Ships UPS or on Next Available GOe Truck if too large to ship UPS, Unless Commercial Carrier Arrangements are Made at Dealers’ expense. Items available: All Standard Catalog Items Under $5100 list. (plus shipping and crating charges if applicable)

These shipment dates are guaranteed by Bertch. Any Shipment not meeting the committed shipment date will have the premium charge waived, however, shipping and/or crating will remain the responsibility of the dealer. Delivery of less than 6 cabinets will have a $147.00 drop charge added to the order.
