Adaptive Intelligent Recovery™ ControlBreakthrough Technology Senses Temperature MoreLike You DoYour Deluxe Programmable Thermostat is so smart, it’salmost human.• Your body perceives temperature from a variety of sources,
not only from the air in the room, but also from yoursurroundings—walls, windows and furnishings.
• Humans feel differences in temperature as slight as twodegrees Fahrenheit.
• Common household thermometers and standard thermostatssense only air temperature, which might or might not reflecthow hot or cold the room actually feels to a human being.
• Your new thermostat reads both the temperature of the walland the air—and responds to temperature changes as littleas one degree Fahrenheit—so room temperature is morelikely to feel right to you and your family.

The Deluxe Programmable Thermostat is actually a small butpowerful computer. When calculating the time to turn on yourheating or cooling system, it considers (1) air temperature, (2)wall temperature, and (3) the time you want the comforttemperature established.• During the Adaptive Intelligent Recovery™ time, the
thermostat immediately increases the temperature setpointfrom the energy savings to the comfort temperature, andleaves the equipment running continuously. This savesenergy by avoiding cycling the equipment and overshootingthe comfort temperature. The thermostat displays Recoverywhenever the thermostat activates the Adaptive IntelligentRecovery™ feature.
• This thermostat learns from experience. Each day it checkshow closely it hit the recovery target and adjusts the nextday recovery start time accordingly.
• It typically takes four to eight days after installation for thethermostat to adjust to the local weather, your lifestyle, theconstruction of your home and your heating/cooling system. The thermostat calculates the Leave/Return recoveryseparately from the Sleep/Wake recovery.
• With the thermostat, you can choose whether you want touse the Adaptive Intelligent Recovery™ setting or theconventional recovery. The thermostat comes preset to theAdaptive Intelligent Recovery™ setting. When conventionalrecovery is desired, call your service technician for assis-tance. Use the Adaptive Intelligent Recovery™ setting whenyou want to choose the exact time that the room reachesyour comfort temperature. Use conventional recovery whenyou prefer to choose the exact time your heating or coolingsystem comes on to start recovery.
