◆About Zhuhai, CHINAYou are likely never to haveheard of Zhuhai – located inthe southwest of China’sPearl River delta, Zhuhai issouthern China’s best keptsecret. The name Zhuhaimeans Pearl Sea. It is wherethe Pearl River flows into theSouth Sea. Having just been asmall fishing village in the1970’s before being grantedSpecial Economic Zone (SEZ) status, Zhuhai was incorporated as a city in 1979.It’s growth since then has been remarkable – the quality of life as well aspopulation size have shifted significantly in the past 30 years.

Zhuhai lies along the zigzagging coast of South Eastern China, overlooking thevast expanse of blue water and undulating green hills in the north. Zhuhai isknown for its beautiful long coastline, waving palm trees, open spaces, lowpopulation density, and its many islands. Thanks to its excellent geographiclocation, clean air and warm climate, Zhuhai is regarded as one of the mostcomfortable places to live in China. With just 820,000 inhabitants in the cityproper and a total of 1.4 million in the metro region, Zhuhai is small by Chinesestandards. Zhuhai also features an extraordinary location for travel, in additionto sharing a border with Macau, it is a 70 minute ferry ride from Shenzhen andHong Kong – the flight hub of southeast Asia. So it serves as the gateway toMacau, as a tourist destination for Chinese, and as a playground forhedonistic Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan visitors who come for Zhuhai'swonderful tourism.Detailed information about the city and practicalities when living here can befound on http://wikitravel.org/en/Zhuhai.If you want to go sightseeing in Zhuhai, visit:http://wikitravel.org/en/ZhuhaiAlso, www.deltabridges.com/zhuhai has lots of useful information and listingsand for up to date info on social events.

☆Quotes from former EPs

“The important thing is, this project opens my eyes widely aboutchildren with autism, they are completely human, the rights aresame like normal human. Me as a human, I just doing my job as ahuman "what's the point of living". For me, the point of living ismaking benefit to our environment, peoples around me.That's why we are live.”

--Ben, Indonesia

“This project is awesome. The goals that were set really intended to givemeaningful impact to the Zhuhai community, especially the autistic peopleand their family. The activities planned are very compatible with thegoals set. I enjoyed doing them very much because of what we can do tohelp the autistic community. There were weaknesses in all of us but I stillfeel proud being a part in this project. I treasure the memories of thisproject and the people that I work with very much! “

--Ridhwan, Malaysia
