Endocrine System

1

The endocrine system refers to the collection of glands of an organism that secrete hormones directly into the circulatory system to be carried toward a distant target organ. The major endocrine glands include the: pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, hypothalamus, gastrointestinal tract and adrenal glands. The endocrine system is in contrast to the exocrine system, which secretes its hormones using ducts. Examples of exocrine glands include the sweat glands, salivary glands, mammary glands, and liver.

Reflection The endocrine system is one of the most important systems in the women’s body because it helps her with a lot of things because it includes the ovaries. It also helps you with the hormones because of the glands and the other things and parts of the body it has.

Sensory System The 5 senses

2

Hearing: We hear with our ears

everything that is around us. 1.

2.

3.

We use these for all the different things we do, and they are really important for us.

Vision: We can see things with our

eyes.

Taste: We taste with the tongue and

we can taste sweet things, sour, salty

and other types of flavours.

A sensory system is a part of the nervous system responsible for processing sensory information. A sensory system consists of sensory receptors, neural pathways, and parts of the brain involved in sensory perception. Commonly recognized sensory systems are those for vision, hearing, somatic sensation (touch), taste and olfaction (smell). Receptive fields have been identified for the visual system, auditory system and somatosensory system, so far.

4. Touch: we can touch with our hands, and we can feel with almost every part of our body.

Smell: We smell with our nose.

Reflection The sensory system is important because we use it everyday and for everything, and it helps us being who we are

and so they really make the difference in our lives.
