“Joni is my favouri te s inger/songwri ter and I ’ve been want ing to do a show about her and her music for some t ime,” said Queenie. “She gave a daughter up for adopt ion ear ly in her career and her music was so inf luenced by this experience. When I gave bir th to my daughter, i t fe l t l ike a perfect t ime to explore this mother and daughter relat ionship and the effect that becoming a parent has on your creat iv i ty.”

In BLUE: The Songs of Joni Mitchel l , Queenie, along with legendary musical director Max Lambert and a l ive band, explores her love of al l th ings Joni. Using voice overs and int imate storytel l ing, Queenie takes us on a sonic journey through her l i fe, loses and loves, af fect ionately reinterpret ing Joni Mitchel l ’s melancholy music, and int imately reveal ing the stor ies behind some of her most haunt ing songs such as A Case of You, Both Sides Now and Li t t le Green.
