There are two methods for installing OneDrive for Business onto your personal device:
1. Install the full Office Pro Plus suite via your Office 365 account, which installs the OneDrive for
Business application
2. Install the individual OneDrive for Business application, if you do not wish to install the full Office
suite onto your device.
Syncing OneDrive for Business (Using Office Pro Plus)
For this method, please make sure you have installed Office 2013 (Pro Plus) before proceeding.
Click the Start button, and start typing in the search
box OneDrive, you should see OneDrive for Business
appear.
Open OneDrive for Business
A window will appear which will say it is ready to sync your OneDrive.
Click on the Sync Now button.
Please be patient whilst the software configures your device for OneDrive.
When you see the screen below your OneDrive folder has been successfully added to your device, you can
click on Show my files to view your OneDrive for Business folder.
Syncing OneDrive for Business (Using individual app)
If you do not require any other Office applications, you can simply download the OneDrive for Business
application on its own.
Login to your Office 365 account – office365.mmu.ac.uk
Using [email protected] and your usual MMU password
Select the OneDrive tile.
Click on the sync button
Click on Get the OneDrive for Business app that’s
right for me
Follow the instructions on the page to download and run the OneDrive for Business sync client installer
Note: If you are unsure on which one to download, select English – OneDrive for Business [32-bit]
After the file has downloaded, double click the file to start the install.
Please be patient whilst the installation completes.
Once the installation has completed, navigate back to your Office 365 account web page and click on Sync
now
You may be prompted with a security warning to allow the OneDrive application to configure correctly.
Please select allow this and Launch the Application if prompted.
The OneDrive for Business application will launch and will prompt you to sign in.
The email address is [email protected] (eg [email protected]) and your usual MMU password
A window will appear which will say it is ready to sync your OneDrive.
Click on the Sync Now button.
Please be patient whilst the software configures your device for OneDrive.
When you see the screen below your OneDrive folder has been successfully added to your device, you can
click on Show my files to view your OneDrive for Business folder.
Locating your OneDrive for Business folder
Now that you have linked your account with your device, you can open up the OneDrive for Business folder
via various methods.
Left or right click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar, select Open your OneDrive for Business folder.
Within Windows Explorer, on the left side under your
Favourites you will find a shortcut to your OneDrive for
Business folder.
OneDrive for Business is always accessible via the Start Menu, under the Microsoft Office 2013 folder or
by typing OneDrive into the search box.
