IWC 샤프하우젠은 1936년 처음으로 특별한 파일럿를 출시하였습니다. 이를 시작으로 IWC 샤프하우젠과 비행이라는 테마의 환상적인 결합이 시작되었습니다. 그리고 4년 후, 55 mm에 달하는 케이스에 칼리버 52 T. S. 파일럿 워치 타임존 크로노 그래프(Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Chronograph)

를 통해 최초로 기계식 시계에서 한 번의 회전 운동으로 다른 시간대로 조절할 수 있습니다. 간단히 베젤을 아래로 누르면서 원하는 타임존으로 회전한 후에 손을 떼면, 아워 핸드, 낮과 밤을 위한 24시간 디스플레이 그리고 날짜가 자동으로 함께 회전합니다. 일광 절약 시간제가 적용되는 국가는 회전 베젤에 작은 S로 쉽게 구분할 수 있습니다. IWC 엔지니어들은 이 매커니즘을 위해 세 가지 기술을 서로 결합시켰 습니다. 우선 파일럿 워치 월드 타이머의 시티 링으로 각 도시명은 국제 시간대를 대표하고 있습니다.
