    LAUSANNE

WORLD PREMIERE OF SOLARIS AT THE OPRA DE LAUSANNE APRIL 24 + APRIL 26, 2015 The novel Solaris by polish author Stanisaw Lem is a masterpiece of science-fiction literature and has inspired film makers and playwrights for generations. At the Opra de Lausanne, young Japanese composer Da Fujikura and the choreographer and set designer Saburo Teshigawara reproduce the haunting atmosphere of the book to create an opera in which there reigns an obsessive strangeness, mixed with 3D images and electro-acoustic music performed by the Ensemble intercontemporain in collaboration with Ircam. www.opera-lausanne.ch

    NYON

DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL VISIONS DU REL APRIL 17 25, 2015 For 46 years, the international film festival Visions du Rel in Nyon has been a place of encounters, exchange, debate of ideas and free expression where the good fortunes and misfortunes of the world and society can be mirrored without hindrance. Among the 166 films presented during the 2015 edition, certain tackle international political and social change in a critical manner, others are devoted to more intimate research, whether this be philosophical or spiritual. But all report an emergency with regard to the critical state of the world. In the spotlight of this years program are several portraits of exceptional women as activists, pioneers, bearers of hope and filmmakers. www.visionsdureel.ch
