AT OUR CORE
Who We AreA National non-profit dedicated to fighting cancer through swimming. We hold dozens of community oriented open-water and pool swims from coast to coast, each used to fundraise for local beneficiaries supporting cancer research prevention and treatment.
HistoryWe began in 1987 with one event in Nantucket, MA. We have grown to hold dozens of events from coast to coast and have raised over $45 million since our inception.
Our GoalTo raise as much money for cancer research, prevention and treatment as possible while making a measurable impact on communities across the country through swimming.
“We promise that our swimmers will always know their impact in the fight against cancer because, at SAA, money raised locally, stays local. Each open water swim supports a beneficiary in the city where it is held… Our swimmers know that the money they raise isn’t going into a black hole.”
~ Janel Jorgensen McArdle, CEO
OUR UNIQUE PROMISE
I think that, for me, SAA is great because we hear from the doctors, know the specific locations we support and can see the benefits of each donation made.
~ Trevor, NY Swimmer
