The Unexpected HaircutI woke up and got ready for school like anyother weekday morning.  I looked out mywindow and saw small snowflakes fallingfrom the sky.  I took a peek at my calendarthat I rarely look at and saw a big circlearound tomorrow.  Inside the circle I saw thewords Winter Formal . I was going to go withmy friends Kylie and Jenna.  We all havepicked out our dresses and mine was bluewith sequins on top.  Jenna is great at doingher hair and Kylie’s mom is a professionalhair dresser. I’m going to braid my hair into afishtail braid for the Winter Formal. I put myclothes on, brushed my hair, and wentdownstairs to eat some cereal.  My mom wasdownstairs eating cereal too.  I poured somemilk into my cereal and I ate it.  I went outsideand saw my bus coming.  When the busstopped at the end of the driveway I got on thebus for school.At the end of the school day I was waiting formy bus to come.  I was talking to Kylie andwe were talking about the winter formal.  Akindergartener was walking past withscissors in his hand.  I asked him why he hadscissors.  He said that he wanted to run withthem.  I told him that he shouldn't do that.The kid took his scissors and I heard a loudSNIP!  My neck was suddenly cold.  I lookedbehind me and saw a pile of long, beautifulblonde hair.  My hands shot up to my headand found that my hair got an unexpected haircut.  I screamed and I heard Kylie half yellinghalf talking to the boy.  Mrs.J was comingtoward my way.  I tried to hold back tears asMrs.J was talking to the boy and I could onlymake up a few words.  Kylie was by my sidetrying to cheer me up.  My bus pulled up andgot on.  Kylie followed behind me.  I heardpeople making fun of my hair.  Kylie wastrying to stop them from calling me names.  Isat by the window with tears streaming downmy face.  The Winter Formal is ruined!  Whatam I going to do?  painted so that they would

My hair looked terrible because of what thatkindergartener did to it.  When my stop came,I got off the bus and ran to my house.  When Igot in my mom saw my hair and asked mewhat had happened.  I told her everything.  Iasked her what I should do.  She said that Ishould call Jenna and ask her because she isgreat with hair.I called Jenna and told her what happened.She said that I should go to a hair salon calledSalon 87.  I told her that I didn't want it to beany shorter than what it already was.  Shesaid that I should trust her and that I have tobe at Salon 87 by 5:00.  She said that I shouldcall Kylie too and tell her that she shouldcome too because we could all get our nailsdone too.  I called Kylie and told her to meetme at Salon 87 at 5:00 like Jenna had told meto.When I got there, I saw Jenna and Kyliewaiting for me.  There was a lady that waswaiting with them that I didn't recognize.  Sheintroduced herself as Peggy.  Peggy circledaround me to see how bad my hair was.Peggy said that it would be an easy fix.  I felt abit worried as she showed me where to sit.There wasn't a mirror because Jenna said itwould be a surprise.A half an hour later, Peggy announced thatshe was done.  Jenna and Kylie walked overfrom the chairs where they were readingmagazines.  They both said that it lookedamazing.  I asked if I could see it and Peggyleft to get a mirror.  She came back with amirror and held it up.  My hair was cut into aneat bob.  It looked so different, but in a goodway.  Jenna, Kylie, and Peggy were waiting tosee if I like it.  I said that it looked wonderful.Peggy left again and came back with a blackheadband with a flower on the side.  She put iton my head and she smiled.  I smiled backand said thank­you.  Jenna, Kylie, and Iheaded over to the manicure and pedicuresection and got our nails

match our dresses.  We talked about my hairthe whole time.  I thought that my hair lookedgreat and my friends thought so too.On the night of the Winter Formal, I wasdressed in my blue dress.  I was having lotsof fun dancing and talking with Jenna andKylie.  Lots of people complimented me onmy hair.  It was a great night and I guess theunexpected haircut wasn’t that bad after all.

The Time I Cut My Nails

Lucy collected her fingernails since age 12.

Yep I said 12. What makes this a tad bit

stranger is that Lucy is 13 years old. And if

you can figure that out she didn’t cut her

nails for 12 years! Yes people I said 12

years! Lucy was proud that she cut her

fingernails all by herself without Mommy.

So that’s why Lucy kept her fingernails, for

proof. Though Lucy had to keep them

secretive because her Mommy would KILL

her because, I mean how gross! But Lucy

knew she had to keep them because her

Mommy often calls her a “baby.” Lucy kept

them in a little plastic baggie entitled

“Lucy’s Own Fingernails 1.”About 2 weeks

later it was time for Lucy to cut her nails

again. Lucy decided to be a “big girl again”

and cut them and put them into another little

plastic baggie entitled Lucy’s Own

Fingernails 2.” Every 2 weeks or so Lucy

put her ten fingernails in different little

plastic baggies for some time now. But now

Lucy was faced with a problem. You want

to know? Well keep reading. Lucy was a

VERY pretty girl but with her fingernails

over 7 feet long prior to cutting them, people

considered her a weirdo. Lucy though didn’t

want to be a weirdo anymore; in fact she

wanted to fit in. Now at Tuckerville Middle

School the so called “popular girls” all wore

nail polish. Now Lucy obviously loved her

nails, because not many people could deal

with 7 foot long nails, and Lucy was used to

plain old white nails. She wanted a change.

She went to her Mommy and asked if she

could have nail polish of her own. Mommy

didn’t hesitate with YES and asked why she

didn’t say so sooner. Mommy drove Lucy to

the local Johl’s in town to buy some nail

polish. Lucy wanted to get pink because she

loved ANYTHING girly with purple

rhinestones. And you betcha Lucy’s

Mommy bought it for her. Lucy was

overjoyed. Lucy painted her nails the next

day for school and people could not believe

it. Lucy was told so many times how

beautiful her nails were. But this was not

really what Lucy was envisioning. She

wanted people to treat her nicely rather how

pretty her nails were or not. Lucy had heard

about a charity called “Nails for Kids” this

charity was for people who had a disease

called Misafanakia which can cause you to

lose your nails or just damage them. Lucy

called “Nails for Kids” and explained her

situation. Now for once in Lucy’s life she

wasn’t made fun of. In fact these people

were grateful. She was brought to Hinderson

Children’s Hospital. She went that day to

Johl’s and bought thousands of dollars’

worth of nail polish, glitters, and sequins.

She thought instead of just giving these little

children her nails she would make them feel

very special. And oh she did. One girl in

particular that is. Her name was Georgette.

She was a 4 year old who was suffering

Misafanakia which is life threatening. Lucy

remembers her because of her spirit.

Georgette was overjoyed when she heard the

news. Lucy began gluing on her nails with

such joy, she was so proud of what she was

doing. When all of the nails were glued on

to the empty skin, Georgette picked out her

colors. She chose 10 different shades of pink

because for her it reminded her of a

princess.

Lucy drew on with nail pens pretty princess

crowns. She also added pretty gold glitter.

Georgette started crying she was that happy.

Lucy had so much appreciation from all of

her clients suffering Misafanakia. She had

made a difference in those little children’s

life. Lucy decided that this was such a huge

success and an uplifting experience that

Lucy made this world-wide. Lucy spoke at

benefits, at the White House, charity events,

hospitals, schools (etc.) Now every child

suffering Misafanakia got gorgeous nails all

from donations. Most people think sharing

cut nails is a gross thing, but Lucy lightened

all of her client’s lives. To some people it’s

gross but to them it’s a life changer. Lucy

never was told she was weird again. I mean

from just a quick judgment you’d think 7

foot long nails are gross, but man they made

a difference. The popular girls at school

didn’t call her a weirdo anymore, they A.

thought her charity was fantastic, and B.

they all became best friends. At this point in

Lucy’s life, lots of people were proud of her,

not only her clients, but her Mommy. Lucy’s

Mommy was so happy that her daughter

wasn’t being a baby anymore. In fact she

apologized to Lucy for calling her that. Lucy

became a Nobel Peace Prize winner, for just

as simple as saving her 7 foot long nails!

          I’m going to talk about hair. If youdon’t need to know anything about hair thanthis is not the article for you.I’m going totalk about the styles and the way you can tothe do your hair.          Some days do you just not know whatto do with your hair? Well one of the mostpopular hair styles is a bun. There aremany different types of buns, for example:a Cinderella bun, a messy bun, and manymore. I will talk about these 2 in this article.          I am going to talk about theCinderella bun now. To do the Cinderellabun you have to put your hair in a ponytail.Then you have to grab all of your hair andstart twisting it. When you twist your hair itwill want to start rapping around the centerof the ponytail that is fine you want that tohappen. Once you twisted your hair asmuch as you can you have to wrap itaround the center of your ponytail. Onceyou are done with that you want to put aponytail rubber band around the bun tokeep it in place. One you are done with allof those steps that you are done makingyour bun!

          To make the messy bun you start withone rubber band. You will want to alreadyhave your ponytail in a bun.

I wear hair clips in my hair all the time andI learned over the years to NOT wear bigjumbo hair clips! If they are too big theymight fall out or just be too distracting. Ifyou look in a mirror and you can see thehair piece, I think it’s a no. For some peopleit might be cute but most likely not.

Scarves Do you have that one scarf that sits

in the back of your closet because you don’t know what to do with it? Well if you do this article might help. There is so much to learn about scarves and this article will teach you everything you need to know about them.

Let’s first start with your scarf; any scarf will look great if you know how to wear it right. If you have a thick wool scarf, it will look great over a jacket in cooler weather. If your jacket is busy and colorful you might want a plain colored scarf. If you have a more simple jacket you could dress it up with a scarf that has more colors and textures.

If you have a cute thin and silky scarf it would look adorable with a plain colored long sleeve shirt or blouse. You want your scarf to match somehow with your outfit but you don’t want your scarf to be the same color as your shirt. You just want your shirt to be an accent color from your scarf.

There are many different kinds of scarves and ways to wear them. The most popular kinds of scarves are: infinity scarves and single scarves.

You can wear the infinity scarves just around your neck once or if your infinity scarf is longer you can double it. To double it you have to put the scarf over your neck then twist it once (like you would putting your hair up in a ponytail) and then put it over your head again.

With the single scarf you can make many designs. One of the more popular ones is called the pull through. How you do it is you take your scarf and you fold it in half then you put it over your head like it is

one strand then you are going to take the side with both of the ends and pull it through the other end that is a loop.
