Curriculum Vitae of Susan Sanchez Page 3 of 20 April 2014 The Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (AVDL) receives and average of 60,00 accessions per year. The microbiology and molecular biology laboratories, both of which I directly supervise, receive 1/10 of the accessions, performing 30,000 tests. Under my leadership the AVDL has evolved from a mediocre bacteriology/mycology laboratory staffed with three technicians to a laboratory that has great national reputation. I have introduced two new sections in Molecular Microbiology and Laboratory Animals. The number of technical staff stands now at seven full time. My laboratory section in the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory provides clinical bacteriology, mycology, serology and molecular diagnostic services to the State and nationally as well as the UGA Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH). 2.2 Laboratory Training of Students and Foreign Visitors: • Grazieli Maboni, visiting senior veterinary student from Brazil, training in diagnostic microbiology and

molecular biology. August- December, 2011. • Drs. Jamal Ali Joodi and Neamah Mayyadah Abdulqader, both Fellows in the Borlaugh International Agricultural

Science and Technology Fellowship program seminar. Drs Joodi and Abdulqader are veterinarians at Diyala and Mosul Veterinary Schools in Iraq. March 2nd- April 6th, 2010.

• Dr. Rachel Azul, Fellow in the Borlaugh International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship program seminar. Dr Azul is a veterinarian at the Bureau of Animal Industry, Department of Agriculture, Buezon City, The Philippines. October 26th -November 20th 2009.

• Dr. Deo Ndumu, Senior Veterinary Officer from the Uganda National Animal Diseases Diagnostics and Epidemiology Laboratory, which is Uganda’s Central Veterinary Laboratory; IAEA fellowship program: training in laboratory quality management, general laboratory techniques and laboratory safety; January 14th - February 28th, 2008.
