Page 3: Survey power point

and submit the report in 1 of 3 ways:

Option 1: a

graph

Page 4: Survey power point

: a reportOption 2:

Page 5: Survey power point

: a presentationOPTION 3

Option 3

Page 6: Survey power point

Sounds complicated? Not really…..

Page 7: Survey power point

1.First of all, pick a partner to work with.

Page 8: Survey power point

2)Next, decide on your TOPIC

You can chose one of the following options

School Friends Interests

Page 9: Survey power point

For example, I will choose topic of school.

Page 10: Survey power point

3)Next, decide what you want to find out. This will help you decide what questions to ask.

For example, I chose to find out about homework habits

Page 11: Survey power point

4)Now think about what questions you wish to ask.

Page 12: Survey power point

You need to think of five questions

Page 13: Survey power point

Here are mine (just an example)….

1) How many hours a week do you spend doing homework?

2)How often are you graded for your homework?

2)How often do you forget to do homework?

3)How do you feel about the amount of homework you get?

4)How often do you have to cancel something in your personal life (eg. an after-school activity, a family event) In order to catch up with homework?

5)How often do you copy homework from a friend rather than do it on your own?

Page 14: Survey power point

5.Then you have to decide on the answers. There

should be at least 3 options: Example: 1)How many hours a week do you spend

doing homework?

Answers A) 10 or more B) 5-10 C) 1-5 D)none

Page 15: Survey power point

6)Then have me (your teacher) check the questions :

Page 16: Survey power point

6) Now you have to find people to survey

They can be any of the following: Your classmates Your family Your friends

Page 17: Survey power point

You must pick between 10 and 20 participants:

Page 18: Survey power point

Ok let’s check so far……

• Pick a theme (home, school, friends)• Pick a partner

• Think of 5 questions• Think of possible answers• Have your teacher check them

• Choose people to interview (10-20)• WHAT’S NEXT?????

Page 19: Survey power point

I suggest you use google drive to help you. You need to have a gmail account to start….

Page 20: Survey power point

Now if you want to do your survey on the computer

On google docs you can find the option to make a form. Press ‘create’ and then click on the ‘form’ option

Page 21: Survey power point

The form program on google drive is easy to use

You can check what sort of answers you want your students to give – the best is ‘multiple choice’ where they can only give ONE answer.

Page 22: Survey power point

Here’s how you compose the form:

1)Type in the question

2)Type in the possible answers

3)Click ‘done’ when you’re finished and ready to move on to the next questionDon’t forget to check

the box if you want all the boxes to be filled in.

Page 23: Survey power point

Once you have finished your questions……

Then you can ‘share’ your form via google plus, email it or put the link on facebook

here is where you can find a link for your survey. You can paste the URL on facebook

Page 24: Survey power point

Once you are done and your questionnaires have been filled in, your form will look like

this:

Here you can click on a summary

Page 25: Survey power point

and here you can see your summary:

Page 26: Survey power point

But you will need to change things a bit

Instead of writing questions you need to report your answers. For example here you need to write ‘ fifty percent of people said that they were graded for their homework at least once a month’

Page 27: Survey power point

Your report

You report (whether it is with a graph, a written report or a slideshow presentation) should be divided into the following sections:1. Cover Page: include your names, date and title2. Aim of the survey: what was the purpose of your

survey?3. Who we interviewed: who did you interview (class,

family, friends etc)?4. Questions asked: what sort of questions did you

ask?5. Results: what were the results of your survey?6. Conclusions: what were the conclusions of your

survey?
