MARKERS#1060 Aluminum Alloy, ASTMB221, ANSI 38.5. Composition: aluminum, 99.6% pure, Silicon and Magnesium make up the balance. Strength: Yield 18,000 psi; Tensile 19,000psi; Elongation 6% in two inches.

MONUMENT BASES/CAST MARKERS Almag 35, Aluminum Alloy 535.0, QQ-A-601ES, or latest revisions. Composition: Aluminum 92-93%; Magnesium 6.2 - 7.5%; Ultimate Strength 40 ksi; Yield 20 ksi; Elongation 13% in two inches.

ALUMINUM PIPE MONUMENTS: - Pipe - Aluminum alloy # 6063 T6, schedule 10: QQ-A200/ 9, ASTM B221, B429, MIL P 25995; outside diameter approx. 2-3/8" with a wall thickness of 7/64". Composition: aluminum, 97-98%, Magnesium .45% - 9%. Strength 35,000 psi, Yield 31,000 psi. Elongation 8% - 10% in two inches.

STAINLESS STEEL MONUMENTS - 304 Stainless Steel, schedule 5, 2-3/8" outside diameter with .065 wall. ASME/ASTM SA-312 is corrosion tested to MIL-P-1144 in accordance with Practice E of ASTM-A-262. Tensile 75,000 psi, Yield 30,000 psi,

MAGNAIL SURVEY NAIL

MARK-IT’s exclusive Steel Survey Mark Ribbed Nail is a solid nail made of strong steel and can be easily located with a magnetic locator. Chrome-plated, it is easily driven into asphalt or wood. The top of nail is embossed with SURVEY MARK imprint. The SSMRN-75 is 75mm (3") long with a ribbed stem, easier to drive in and more secure than nails with smooth stems. The nail features a 25mm (1") convex top and recessed plumb point for pinpoint accuracy. The SSMRN-75 can be used with MARK-IT Disc/Washers to provide a low cost durable marker with more information.

REBAR MARKERS INSTALLATIONDrive Rebar to desired depth with Rebar Driver (optional item). Using a soft face hammer, tap the Survey Marker onto the Rebar. Two or three hammer strikes will secure your Marker on the Rebar. If using a steel hammer, place a block of wood or piece of leather between the Marker and hammer to protect your logo. A Driving Cap is also available as an optional item.

INSURING A PROPER FIT ON REBAR:Be sure that there are no large burrs, or mushrooming on the one end that will receive the Marker. We suggest you file or grind the burrs off before taking the rebar into the field. Rebar drivers are available to eliminate any mushrooming of rebar during the driving application.

HSF is a solid aluminum stamping base that is designed to hold rebar/pipe MARKERS while hand stamping is performed. DC is a solid aluminum driving cap that can be used for driving markers onto rebar or into pipe. Makes for easy installation and protects top of marker.

CONCRETE/BENCH MARKSOur ALUMINUM AND BRASS CONCRETE / BENCH MARKS are ideal to satisfy your requirements for highways, streets, intersections, cemeteries, and other location points, as well as in rocks, certain sizes of pipe, dams, bridges, etc. Our stem design fastens securely in concrete–permanently. Pre-stamping is available or they can be marked easily in the field. Refer to Stamping Section for instructions. Magnets are an available option on all models. A tumbled finish gives the ALUMINUM a smooth, satin- like appearance. We welcome the opportunity to quote on larger diameter brass and aluminum markers. For stamping format see pages 20 & 21.

The MPM-SM is made of solid copper and is perfect for setting a mark in walls, sidewalks, curbs, rock outcrops, bridge decks, etc. It’s perfect also as an unobtrusive marker. This unique marker features a machine knurled stem that holds tightly to and deforms in a ribbed plastic anchor plug (included). Easy to use and install with the special MPM-CDB drill bit that countersinks the marker so it is set flush. The MPM- SM is embossed with SURVEY MARK imprint and features a recessed plumb point. Top diameter of the marker is 30mm (1.18”). Shaft length: 40mm (1.57”), shaft diameter is 8mm (.31”). Drill ½” hole about 1¾” deep for expansion plug.

The MPM-PFT is made of solid copper and similar to the MPM-SM. Unlike the MPM-SM, the MPM-PFT features a flat top with no inscription that can be custom stamped (maximum 15 characters including spaces). This unique marker also features a machine knurled stem that holds tightly to and deforms in a ribbed plastic anchor plug (included). The TRI-STAKE is designed for the Surveyor who prefers a light-weight, economical aluminum stake. At ¾” diameter, TRI-STAKES provide maximum holding retention and security with three wide, forged flute sets offset 90° from each other. A Driving Pilot Point enables a straight ground entry for easy installation from start to finish. A magnet is placed in the cap for easy location.

The TRI-FLUTED DRIVING ALUMINUM MONUMENT is a light-weight yet extremely strong monument designed for surveyors who want a quick installation. The monument can be driven into most soil conditions by using a soft-faced hammer. It is similar to our tri-fluted driving stake except the 3¼” diameter cap is secured to the rod by a 3/16” solid aluminum rivet. A magnet is located in the rod for easy location.

The double fluted Street Marker is light-weight and extremely strong. At ¾” diameter and 10½” long, Aluminum Street Markers provide maximum holding retention. The shaft is drilled and tapped and comes with a lockscrew installed. The 4” diameter cap is tapped and screws on to the shaft. A magnet is located in the cap. The cap also has two slots to accept a spanner wrench for additional tightening if needed.

Installation: Drive stake into ground with a power or manual driver to desired depth, place MARKER on rod and apply several hammer taps to fasten MARKER onto rod.

The EXTENSION RODS are manufactured from #6063 T6 extruded aluminum rod, meeting material specifications ASTM B 221 and QQ-A 200/9. Both rod ends are machine-faced and precision drilled and tapped, to freely accept every lockscrew. This assures maximum bonding and fusion between each Extension. Rod ends are protected by plastic end caps. One lockscrew is INSTALLED in each Extension Rod. A “SCRATCH” mark is machined 1” from each end of the rod to aid in MARKER installation.LOCKSCREWS are fabricated from a high nickel and chrome stainless steel alloy, which assures constant superior quality. The machined thread guarantees positive fastening and is metallurgically matched, to allow optimum fusion between all parts. Disc-lock washers between Rod sections will aid in keeping all rods connected.

BREAK-OFF MONUMENTThe BREAK-OFF MONUMENT is designed to meet the needs of Federal, State and County Agencies where a “break-off” monument is required. The high impact polystyrene base is designed to break at a pre-determined point leaving the magnet at the original location after impact. After a 2,000 hour Weatherometer test, (equivalent to 20+ years of field life) following ASTM G53, by an independent laboratory they reported, “The PolyTech coated sample appearance shows minimal dulling of the surface gloss while the uncoated samples are very dull with glass fibers being exposed on the surface. Tensile and flex tests have been conducted on the exposed samples and on unexposed samples.
