A VERSATILE VENUE
Once you have your Auspicious Date, the venue choice is all important. Are you having a Civil Ceremony, Mandap Ceremony, or Reception? Addington Palace can accommodate all three on the same day with no need for a turnaround!
For example, you could wow your guests by having your Civil Ceremony in the awe-inspiring Great Gall. Then after a magical change into more vibrant attire, your guests can await you on the South Lawn for your mandap ceremony with its spectacular vista of the imposing Palace from one side and undulating Surrey countryside from the other. Then end your day with your reception in the grand setting of the Royal Pavilion.
GREAT HALL | HINDU CEREMONYUp to 200 Guests
GREAT HALL | CIVIL CEREMONYUp to 200 Guests ARCHITECTURE
This magnificent hall is the work of renowned Scottish Architect Norman Shaw. We're undecided whether his centrepiece is the beautiful alabaster and marble chimney piece or the magnificent brass French Chandelier. Equally impressive are the walls adorned with silk coverings and the beautiful hand-carved architrave.

THE GROUNDS
The beautiful parklands surrounding Addington Palace were the work of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, a renowned English Landscape Architect of the 18th Century credited as "England's Greatest Gardener". His works are highlighted on the terrace by a majestic 250 year old Cedar of Lebanon Tree

ROYAL PAVILION HIRE
The most popular option tends to be hosting the Hindu Ceremony in the Pavilion with the Ganesh greeting you in the flag stoned entrance to the sounds of the Dhol drummers playing in the Groom. There's an impressive aisled walkway leading to the Mandap in the first section of the Pavilion where the wedding rituals are then performed in front of the sacred fire. Once the Ceremony is over, the dividing curtains unveils the Luncheon Area that then hosts this element of the day.
Included in the Pavilion Hire:

PALACE & PAVILION HIRE
For those clients that wish to have a Ceremony and Reception, hiring the Entire Estate gives you the ultmate venue hire solution.
A typical day hiring the Entire Estate starts with the Pavilion playing host to the Ceremony & Luncheon before being reset for the evening reception.
During this turnaround your guests can retire to the Palaces many lounge areas, or freshen up for the evenings festivities in our lavish changing rooms. This period also makes for fantastic photo opportunities with stunning rooms and beautiful outdoor areas.
Ordinarily, the Great Hall then plays host to a Champagne and Canapes Reception to ensure the ‘wow’ factor before guests then enjoy their sumptuous feast and party the night away in the Pavilion.
That's just one of the many options of this hire choice.

Holding your special day at Addington Palace will guarantee you a unique wedding venue that is steeped in history
1544Henry VIII sold Addington Park Estate and manor house to Sir Nicholas Leigh. This original medieval Manor House in Addington Village became the Leigh family residence for 200 years
1770-1778Barlow Trecothick, Alderman of London and Lord Mayor in 1770-71, purchases house and land & employs Robert Mylne to design and build a grand Palladian mansion. After his death in 1775, the Mansion was completed by his nephew James Trecothick, who later employed Capability Brown for extensive landscape works.
1807-1898An Act of Parliament was passed allowing the purchase and upgrading of the house for the Archbishops of Canterbury as a country residence. Thus 6 of the archbishops of Canterbury resided at Addington Palace. Despite opposition by Queen Victoria herself, the Estate was sold in 1898 to wealthy diamond merchant, Frederick English
