Modified and applied dynamic visioplasticity technique, which enables the complete stress history of any steady or nonsteady, quasi-static or impact, plane strain plastic deformation process to be determined from a record of the deformation pattern. Did research in the field of manufacturing processes and design. Designed a new high velocity impacting press that will be useful for metalworking industries. Developed a new three-dimensional mode for metal flow during metal-forming processes. 1972-1977: Director, Manufacturing Processes Laboratory Associate Professor Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, INDIA Guided 60 engineering projects. Supervised 56 employees and directed practical training of all students on machines and equipment used in different manufacturing processes. Involved in six research projects in the field of manufacturing at the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology, Ranchi. Developed new alloys using rare earth elements with several important base metals. Developed a new method of evaluating machinability of metals and alloys. Created a method for studying the bulging effects on polygonal disks under high compressive stress. Studied forgeability of several valuable aluminum alloys. Consulting United Defense LP. The work involved guiding the development of Crusader Tank with better quality, low cost and shortening product development cycle.

Consultancy to the University of New Orleans: Rendered consultancy to the University of New Orleans on State-Of-the-Art of Material Management in the Ship Building Industry, and submitted the report. This report addresses several aspects of material management that need to be considered for efficient material handling and inventory management process. The various aspects of material management, including Material Handling, Inventory Management, Planning and Scheduling, Procurement and Receiving, Monitoring and Tracking, Controlling and Statusing, are highlighted. Recent trends of material management are also summarized in the report. An effort has been made in this perspective to visualize the state-of-the-art in material management with special emphasis on the shipbuilding industry. Several new techniques and trends have been reported for a more efficient and cost-effective material management. These new techniques have great potential for implementation in the shipbuilding industries and need to be explored in relation to greater competition in the global market.
