Welcome to Austria at HOFEX and PROWINE ASIA 2019

The gourmet nation of Austria is nestled right at the heart of Europe, in a magnificent land-scape. The Alps provide the romantic backdrop for a small, exquisite world, wholly dedi-cated to taking pleasure in natural products.

Juicy green meadows, blossoming fields and untouched alpine pastures grow the ingredi-ents. These are then transformed into a range of specialty products by both the traditional, small-scale Austrian agricultural industry and the processing institutions, inspiring palates around the whole world. With its dedication to purity, top quality and exceptionally natural taste, Austria’s food and drinks industry is conquering the taste of the Asian customers.

Austria’s wine culture is unique: The ongoing international success of Austrian winemakersis based on several individual factors such as intelligent use of natural resources, highest quality without compromise and a combination of skills, tradition, experience and innova-tive winemaking techniques. The strong increase in Austrian wine exports of +20 % to Hong Kong in 2017 underlines the success “Made in Austria”.

Situated in Kremstal the winery Mantlerhof has been owned and run by the family Mantler for over 200 years. The family traces its wine-making heritage back to 1365. On the same soil that gives the Huang He its yellow colour the winery Mantlerhof produces dry and sweet white wines. This Löss-soil, on south-ern slopes, produces full-bodied, powerful, yet el-egant wines with smooth and digestible acidity.

The Mantlerhof winery specialises in the vinification of white wines. On 14ha the winery, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Roter Veltliner are organically cultivated. All Varieties are also available as ‘High Predicates’ in the Sweet Wine Range.

The Mehofer family has lived at and cultivated the Neudeggerhof wine estate for more than 300 years. Bernhard Rankel founded a walnut refinery in Potzneusiedl, north Burgenland in 2011 where wal-nuts are converted into a delicacy! Fine Walnut liqueurs are produced according to his own recipes and acacia barrels and oak barrels are also filled with vintage liqueurs every year. The Wal-nut liqueurs have already gained a number of awards.

Rankel also develops and produces unique walnut delicacies based on its own recipes. In addition to direct sales and online trading, the Rankel refinery currently supplies the retail trade, hotels and supe-rior caterers.
