To AMEND THE CIVIL PROCEDURE ORDINANCE.

BE it enacted by the Administrator of the Sovereign Base

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Civil Procedure shorttitie.

Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia as follows :-

(Amendment) Ordinance, 1970 and shall be read as one with the Civil Procedure Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Ordinance”).

Cap. B (Laws of Cyprus) Ordinance 18 of 1966.

2. The principal Ordinance is hereby amended by repealing section 11 thereof and substituting therefor the following new

“Interest on 11.-(1) In any proceedings tried in the Judges’ onjudgments. Court. for the recovery of any debt upon which

interest is payable whether by virtue of any agreement or otherwise as by law provided the Court shall award interest at the rate agreed upon or otherwise as by law provided, for the period commencing on the date when such interest became payable until final payment :

Provided that such rate or interest shall not exceed the maximum rate of interest allowed by any Ordinance in force for the time being.

(2) Every judgment shall, unless other provision is made in the judgment under sub-section (1) of this section, carry interest at the rate of four per centum per annum from the date on which the judgment is pronounced until the same shall be satisfied, and in either case such interest may be levied under a writ of execution on such judgment.

(3) Nothing in this section contained shall authorise the giving of interest upon interest.”.

To AMEND THE PHARMACY AND POISONS ORDINANCE.

BE it enacted by the Administrator of the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia as follows :-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Pharmacy and Poisons (Amendment) Ordinance, 1970, and shall be read as one with the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance, 1964 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Ordinance”) and shall come into operation on the 31st July, 1970.

2. Section 14 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting in paragraph (a) thereof the word and 1etter“or (b)”.

3. Section 15 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by repealing section 15 thereof and substituting therefor the following new section :-

4. Section 20 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended as follows :-

(a) by deleting paragraph (b) of subsection (1) thereof ;

(b) by deleting in paragraph (a) of subsection (2) thereof the words and letters “paragraphs (a) and (b)”, and sub- stituting therefor the words “paragraph (a)”.

Section 23 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting in subsection (2) thereof the words “two hundred mils” and substituting therefor the words “one pound”.

6. Section 27 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting subsection (4) thereof and substituting therefor the following new subsection :-

“British Pharmaceutical Codex” means the current edition of the book published by that name (including supplements thereof) by direction of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.”.
