BThe children, youngs, and olds represent three different stages of life. Life is often likened to circle, which is composed of many stages. Someone dies while someone borns. This leaf circle can be seen as one's life and each leaf is a specific stage. Or the circle can be seen as social relationship, and each leaf is on behalf of a single person's life.

Wuhan city urban zone

Donghu scienic resort

site

Donghu is a large lake within the city limits of Wuhan and is the largest urban lake in China. Donghu Scenic Resort covers an 81.68 km2 area, including 42 km2 land, 33 km2 water area and 7 km2 forest, respectively. Donghu Scenic Resort comprises eight sub-areas, one of which is Mountain Yujia scenic area. The area of Mountain Yujia is 8.04 km2, including 5.37 km2 land and 2.67 km2 water area, respectively. The proposed application site, surrounded by mountains on three sides, is set within the south entrance of Mountain Yujia scenic area. The water is flowing from east to west.

The app l i cat ion s i te , located at the south e n t ra n c e o f D o n g h u Scen ic Resort , i s the important traffic corridor. On the other hand, few p e o p l e s t ay a ro u n d . B e s i d e s , t h e c u r re nt view of site can not be compared with other spots in Donghu Scenic Resort. So enjoyment, o r n a m e n t a n d interactivity of landscape design should be the only effective way to attract visitors.

Desktop studies around the site revealed varying forms of land use in the site context. The site is surrounded mainly by mountains, water, university campuses and scenic spots. Because residents nearby are rare, the site might not be used as the residential district. The site might not be planned to become an entertaining park for students of universities around as well, for the students are more likely to stay in campus in most of the time. Echoed with the nearby spots, the site should be designed to become a comprehensive park of natural ecology.

The site has three characteristic land uses including the northwest lying village of Hill Maowu, restaurants for large gatherings and vehicle maintenance shops. Others are small residential areas or vacant space. So the traffic is relatively little and the venue flow is also relatively little.

As this application site is a part of Donghu Scenic Resort, it should be considered to make up the missing characters. The design of interactivity is the main feature of the project to remedy these defects in the whole resort. So this design contains Moonlight Zone, Pappy Palace, Edible Landscape and lawns which are set up in the western half. In addition, to meet the planning idea of Donghu Scenic Resort, Scenic View of Lakes and Mountains formed in the eastern half to effectively keep quality of existing surface water with high species richness, to improve wildlife habitat and protect biodiversity, and to create island refuge primarily for migratory waterfowl.

Moonlight Zone

This Moonlight Zone is the expression of a creative idea for the moonlight to shine on the various c y l i n d r i c a l s t r u c t u re s through a series of physical reflection or refraction u p o n t h e c y l i n d e r formations. Moonl ight Zone provides pedestrian access to s i te, s i tt ing area inside the cylindrical structures and walking area.

Pappy Palace

A Pappy Palace in the redevelopment of an old park was suggested and the idea was turned out to be very resident friendly. The intention of the idea was to solve the problem of deference between more people who raising dog and few place where could be used for pet recreation. It can attract residents nearby but also residents from other regions of city. The Pappy palace offers a variety of recreational facilities including swimming pool and bathing equipment for both dogs and the owners to spend a good time there. What is more, With the Pappy Palace, a new way of socializing might be discovered.

Edible Landscape

Edible landscaping is the practical integration of food plants within an ornamental or decorative setting. Using edibles in landscape design can enhance a garden by providing a unique ornamental component with additional health, aesthetic, and economic benefits. The more one cultivates good relationships with all those involved with a landscape, the better future that landscape will have.

Scenic View of Lakes and MountainsWet land on site is preserved to provide aquatic birds habitat as it used to be. Timber deck offer visitors good sight of the whole scene.

GOAL: pursuing harmonious coexistence between human and natureCube Cell Teahouse strives to creat a relaxing and quiet environment for teachers and students to have tea and chat, even in the strict environment created by surrounding teaching buildings. The teahouse deviates an angle of 45, breaking the current strict spatial framework. In this way, Cube Cell Teahouse will be more flexible and relaxing, and it will attract more customers by changing the entrance direction. On the other hand, the teahouse's structure stays the same with the arrounding building to fit in the whole cumpus-pattern.
