Rosy Outlook A close relation to GII Del Mar Derby winner MediciCode (GB) (Medicean {GB}) caught the eye of formertrainer Charles Cyzer, who bought the Medicean colt(lot 1190), out of Medici Code's half-sister Lilli Marlane(GB) (Sri Pekan), for 67,000gns. Bred by octogenarian Mary Foreman and offered byher daughter Mary Kennell's Rosyground Stud, the colthails from a family with which Mrs Foreman has had along association. The Bond theme continuedwith a new name on the buyers'list--Skyfall Bloodstock. Theenterprise investment schemesyndicate, which includes agentCharlie Gordon-Watson, spent atotal of 225,000gns on threeweanlings, including a Rip Van Winkle colt for100,000gns. Game Performance, Dude cont.

Hustled from his inside draw by Smith, Game OnDude slightly brushed into Nonioswhile gaining a narrow lead as theyentered the clubhouse turn. Game OnDude showed the way down thebackstretch through fractions of:24.52 and :49.81 with Nonios in hotpursuit. The 5-year-old began to shakeclear at the top of the lane as Nunioswas under a ride, but the Green SmithJr. colorbearer wasn=t done yet. Thepair were almost on even terms inmidstretch, but the classy Game OnDude turned back his game foe to wingoing away late. AHe had a littlehiccup coming out of the gate,@ Smith revealed.

" " "

AHe was squatting a little. I had a couple of ideasmaybe we=ll try. The idea was just to stay out of hisway. (Jockey) Martin (Pedroza) secured the lead and ifhe wanted it going at a decent pace, I was going to lethim have it. But he didn=t really go on and I wasdetermined to stick him in there.@ Smith continued, AIknow this horse is brave, so I just put him where Ithought I had to. The key for me was to win, and if Icould win without gutting him, it would be really good.@ Minus a 12th-place finish in the G1 Dubai World Cupand the aforementioned bust in the Classic, Game OnDude has done little wrong throughout his 5-year-oldcampaign. The dark bay put them back-to-back inInglewood in the GII Californian S. June 2 and GI

Hollywood Gold Cup H. July 7. He wassecond-best in the GI TVG PacificClassic S. at Del Mar Aug. 26 beforepunching his ticket to theChampionships with a dominating tallyin Santa Anita=s GI Awesome Again S.Sept. 29 under Rafael Bejarano. AI thought Nonios would be thehorse to beat in here,@ Baffertcommented. AThat=s one of the reasonswe put Mike (Smith) on him, becausewhen you=re a heavy favorite, you cango ahead and get aggressive on him. I saw Nonios making that move on the

(final) turn and was coming back on, I said >Whoa,=because this track is pretty demanding. But then he cutback in and he wasn=t really tired when he got back.@
