Getting Ready for Kids to Move to their New Classes!

August 14th is promotion Sunday where all our children will move to their new classes for the year! A new year also

brings new opportunities to serve God and his church! If you are interested in becoming part of the Children’s Ministry

Team, please contact Stacy to help find a place where your gifts and desires can be met!

Also, on August 14th we hope to launch our new check-in system for the kids. Each parent can receive a key fob for a

quick scan check in. Please stop by Room 11 over the next few Sundays and we can quickly set you up. You will be able to

check in your children without one if you prefer to be assisted in check in. We are looking forward to this tool to enhance the

safety of our kids!

Find a place to serve today!!

During our 2011 winter retreat, participating students penned psalms of their own expressing the glory of God, their marvel for our Creator as well as their personal frustrations and convictions.  Take a minute to read and be inspired.

You are the God who refuses to fit in the palm of my hand    Because He would rather spin Himself around me.You are the God who is mighty to save but does not save quickly,    Lets me rage in the fire until I burn,    Until I melt, until I scream, until I am stripped of my impurities. You are the God who stretches my soul across galaxies and insecurities,    Who drags my heart through seas and stardust and sunsets    And every moment of where-are-you-now.You are the God who molds and shapes with potter’s hands    Until I am more beautiful than flawed. You are the God who breathes.

Final Deep-End Pool PartySunday, July 31st, 4-5:30 p.m.

We have been working to move our Church Management Software package to a new system which we hope will beer serve our

congregation, increase effective communication with the office and aid in our shepherding efforts.   One of the central features of this new system is the ability for members to access and update their personal information online as well as communicate with fellow class and group members and even access a Church directory. (*Note: You have to select the Church Directory option in your privacy preferences to participate in the directory.)

To help ensure a smooth rollout, we are starting with our leaders before moving to some of our larger classes and then the entire congregation.   This system is extremely secure and versatile! Some of you saw the check-in system in action when we unveiled it for VBS. It will be a great tool for the security of our kids as well as one that will help us beer serve each other! Looking forward to serving with you!

Looking for a place to get involved and serve?  The Well, our 11:05 service in the Commons,

could use your help!

We are looking for help in the following areas: running slides, greeters/communion servers, and help with setup or cleanup. All of these would be on a monthly rotational schedule!  If you want to hear more, check out the

next newsleer or email [email protected]!

Helping those in need:Water Bottle Drive for the Salvation Army

collection today and next Sunday and ShoeBox Ministries Toiletry Drive

through the month of August. With the rise of our summer heat, Shoebox is once again experiencing a decrease in its donations. We are in desperate need of supplies to make our hygiene kits. The four top most needed items are full-size shampoo, full-size toothpaste, bar soap of any size and deodorant. We will, of course, take any kind of personal grooming item including those free hotel toiletries you may have picked up from your travels.

Doing a toiletry drive can be a great way for students to earn their community service hours. Time put into making posters, spreading the word, collecting the donations, etc. all counts as community service hours. The need is great, so we hope you will please help spread the word and bring in some much needed toiletries for our Valley's homeless families.

• We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along.

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!
