Campers will have fun in the sun in traditional YMCA Day Camp. Each week will feature an exciting camper-run project based on that week’s theme. Daily components include songs, games and character values. Each camper will be able to select their daily enrichment from arts & crafts, science, technology & math, Y-Fit, Indoor and Outdoor Games and Aquatics (where available)

Learn the fundamental skills, drills and strategies of your favorite sports. Includes elements of traditional day camp. Ages 5 to 12 years old.

BASKETBALL

Dribble, Pass, Shoot and Score. Learn and perfect the individual and team skills of basketball while

DANCE & CHEER

Get your cheer and dance moves on as you groove your way through Hip Hop, Zumba, and Jazz. Create routines and perform!

FLAG FOOTBALL

GYMNASTIC CAMP

Campers will participate in a two-week session where the first week will be fundamentals, drills and skills and the second week will be putting the skills and drills to test with tournaments and competitions.

TEEN CAMP (DADE)KENDALL INDIAN HAMMOCKS PARK

Spend you summer exploring and discovering outdoor adventures in our newest location at Kendall Indian Hammocks Park. Campers will spend fun-filled days taking nature hikes through the Hammocks, using the Frisbee golf course, playing sports on the Basketball courts, doing arts& crafts and enjoying water sprinkler activities. Each camp will have a home base in a private pavilions. This outdoor camp experience is what camping Y-style is all about!

TEEN CAMP TIGER TAIL (BROWARD)

Teens, your perfect summer starts at Tigertail Lake Recreational Center. Each two week Teen Adventure Camp includes learning new skills and activities, from water safety to outdoor adventure. Teens will enjoy watersports, team-building activities, the Challenge Course and weekly Community Service projects. From these experiences Teens discover newfound confidence, strength and skills.

Two-Week Camp:

TEEN ADVENTURE CAMP

Two-week sessions that will include skills/certification the first week and a skill/theme-related activity/field trip the second week.

FITNESS CAMPS

At the Y we make Fitness Camp Fun! The road to fitness doesn’t have to be boring or routine. There is something for every level of fitness, personality and body type. Led by a certified personal trainer, Fitness Camp will include exercise and physical activity that is developmentally appropriate.

ATHLETIC CONDITIONING CAMP

Athletic Conditioning Camp: Building the foundation for all athletes - Mobility, Agility, Power, Speed, Body Control, Cardiovascular Fitness, Proper Nutrition, and more. Campers will learn from a Y-Certified Strength and Conditioning Personal Trainer in addition to being supervised by a counselor. Conditioning Camp builds confidence and strength. 1/2-Day Camp

PHYSICAL FUSION CAMP

Active play and games designed to improve endurance and strength using proper techniques is great for campers at all fitness levels. Campers will improve their cardio conditioning, strength, flexibility and nutrition while learning how to incorporate these skills into their everyday lives. Campers will receive a pre- and post-fitness test administered by a Y-Certified Personal Trainer and Counselor. Minimum 4 weeks

JUST KEEP SWIMMING

Learn strokes refine the strokes you know and learn flip turns. Play games and water sports. Learn water safety skills. Campers will swim from 9am–noon in groups according to skill levels. Ages 6–12. Campers must be a stage 3Swimmer. Locations: Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Aquatic Center, Weston, Homestead.

JR. LIFEGUARD CAMP

American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding is designed to build the foundation of knowledge, attitude and skills for future lifeguards. Campers will learn techniques and build stamina to one day be a lifeguard. This camp is not a Lifeguard Certification due to the age of the campers. Campers must be a Stage 3 Swimmer. Ages 12 to 14 years old.

SCUBA CAMP

Join the Y and Sea ExperienceTM for an underwater adventure! Learn how to Snorkel and Scuba Dive with a certified PADI instructor. All participants must have medical clearance from a physician and complete the Scuba medical packet to participate. Campers must be a Stage 3 swimmer. Mask and Snorkels required. Parent meeting required the Friday before camp session.

Drowning Prevention is a critical initiative at the Y in South Florida. Accidental drowning is the leading cause of death among infants and small children in Florida, and Broward and Miami-Dade counties lead the state. The reality is accidental drowning is preventable by following the 3 Layers of Drowning Prevention – Adult Supervision, Barriers & Alarms and Swim Instruction.While the supervision and barriers are up to parents and adults, no one does swim instruction better than the Y. And recently, the Y adopted a more skills-based model of instruction in our YMCA Swim Lessons program. Below is an overview of the new program.
