Payment Policy Belleair Summer Camp Fees:

Members: Non-Members: $45/Week $60/Week

Field trip fees are included. Payment 1: Upon registration 50% of camp fees are due to the Town of Belleair. Payment 2: May 18- remaining fees must be paid or unpaid weeks will be dropped. All specialty camps must be paid in full at time of registration.

Refund Policy A “Request for Refund” form must be filled out and returned to the Belleair Rec at least 5 working days prior to the session in which a refund is requested. If available, the refunded amount may be transferred to another session. Any requests submitted 5 or fewer days, that cannot be transferred, will be assessed a $10 processing fee. All field trip fees are non-refundable.

About Belleair Summer Camp

The Belleair Parks and Recreation Department will be offering morning youth camp during the summer of 2012. This special program will be for children ages 6-12 and will be held Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Space is limited to 100 campers per week. Early drop off will be available at 8:00 am. Our goal is to offer a variety of recreational summer camp activities with the emphasis on safety, relationship building and FUN! Choice of activities will be geared toward each child’s age and abilities. We dedicate ourselves to choosing the finest staff and training them to provide the highest quality program for your child.

The Belleair Rec Counselor-in-Training program is a volunteer program for ages 13-18. This program allows teens to achieve their community service hours in a fun and safe atmosphere. As a CIT, teens will learn responsibility, leadership skills, team building and so much more. Applications for the CIT program are available at the front desk and online at www.belleairrec.com. Applications are due Friday, May 4th. If you are a new applicant, you may be asked to interview with a Rec Staff member. Interviews will be conducted Monday, May 7th to Wednesday, May 16th. All Sports Camp

Want to have fun and improve your athletic skills this summer? Then come join us in a positive, fun environment where you will play soccer, basketball, baseball, and more! All Sports provides kids a unique opportunity to experience a wide array of recreational activities while learning sportsmanship, skills, and a better understanding of each sport.

American Girl Camp

With so many American girl dolls to choose from, discover which doll is right for you. Bring your American Girl doll for playtime, crafts, tea party and daily themes for a week of creative learning and lasting friendships.

Art Camp

Splash on a little color...create some cool shapes...let your creative juices flow! No experience required…just a desire to have fun, spend time with friends, and be creative. Under the fun-filled guidance of two art-loving and experienced instructors, you'll experiment with a wide variety of mediums to create 2-D and 3-D masterpieces! So, check your calendar and book a date. Come and see what you can create!

Beginner’s Sewing

This is a beginning sewing camp to introduce basic stitching and making homemade things for ourselves from hand. We will complete 1 to 2 sewing projects per day and explore making patterns and fabrics! Projects include drawstring bag, totes, iPod holder, bookmarks and more!

Creative Cooking Camp

Roll up your sleeves, feel the dough between your fingers and get ready to slice and dice! Campers will receive hands-on training in food preparation, learn to read recipes, and explore creative, healthy foods. Campers will create a cookbook to take home with the recipes from the week.

At F.G.O. there are NO boys allowed! Girls will love this fun filled week with arts and crafts, games, glitz and glamour. Create and wear your design on the runway at Belleair’s very own Project Runway show.

For Girls Only Camp

Crime Solvers CSI

No blood, no gore, just fun galore! Campers will love collecting and processing evidence and solving crimes just like a real CSI. We’ll gather impression evidence, learn to use chromatography, and examine evidence under a microscope.

Join the Rec Staff as we teach the fundamentals of fishing in this four day camp. This camp will teach basic knot tying, casting, angling techniques, and much more. The class will go to local piers to fish. All students will receive a new fishing rod and reel to keep, courtesy of the Fish Florida Foundation.

Football Camp

Through the coaching of current and former NFL and college football players, the Stacy Simmons All Pro Football Camp will teach the fundamentals of the game, while promoting teamwork which is necessary for success at all levels. Through the combined experience of our coaching staff, WE GUARANTEE that your child will improve and gain the competitive edge needed to succeed.

GCU Soccer Camp

GCU soccer camps focuses on teaching the fundamental techniques of the game and showing players how to master these skills. Tailor-made for junior players with a fun and friendly atmosphere that will help your young soccer star strive to reach peak performance. Campers will begin each day with a fun warm up game to loosen up and start off on the right foot. This will be followed by the technical portion of the session, focusing on ball control, passing and shooting. The day will conclude with small-sided games where campers will have the opportunity to utilize skills learned earlier in the day.

Geyser Gabby’s Science Camp is a great way for kids to channel their energy in a fun atmosphere where they will not only have fun, but learn great lessons too. Parents can have the comfort of knowing that even in the summer their children are continuing to learn in safe and stimulating environment. Not to mention, Geyser Gabby has a way with the kids and they will not leave this camp disappointed.

Belleair Hoop School

Hoop it up with Coach Steve Willis and staff as they teach the fundamentals of basketball in this five day camp. This camp will teach ball handling, shooting, passing and defense. Campers will play 3 on 3 basketball games, 5 on 5 games, hot-shot contests, and free throw contests, all in a fun and exciting environment.

Hip Hop Dance Camp

Dance your heart out with instructors Ms. Tara Lynn and Mr. Dustin at West Florida Dance Center. Come learn how to break down your favorite dance moves. We will be performing at the end of the week showcasing your hip hop talent.

Delve into the world of atoms, molecules, and chemical reactions. From the super tiny to the super slimy, this fun, hands-on and interactive program for children sends them on a fascinating journey of exploration and discovery into the world of chemistry!

Mad Science Camp

Grossology

This week offers a chance to explore just how gross our amazing bodies are! Discover cool chemical reactions, and get right down to the microscopic level to discover the stuff we're all made of—cells! Venture inward on a journey down the “Mad Science Organ Trail” and explore all our organs and body systems. Create an organ apron and a model lung to take home. Finish the week with an introduction to some of the gross body chemistry we all need, including burping, farting, spitting and why we need mucus - make your own brain goo to keep!

Magic Camp

Week 11: 8/13-8/17

Everyone can be a magician! Magician Barb Terry presents Magic Camp for one week only! Magicians-in-Training will learn beginner stage magic, how to perform tricks, handling rabbits and doves and stage presence. Don’t forget to invite your family and friends to the final performance where you can showcase your magical talents! Space is limited so sign up early!

Ninja Camp

Week 8: 7/23-7/27

1:00 pm– 4:00 pm Ages: 6-12 $100/week

Ninja camp is a new, exciting camp experience where you learn martial arts as you play. We use authentic, traditional martial arts (ninjitsu) techniques in a fun and entertaining way. This camp challenges campers and allows them to grow while they develop confidence and discipline.

Rhythm of Africa will explore the songs, dances, and movements of East Africa. Campers will learn to play traditional drums, dance Gogo style, and even learn a little bit of Swahili. This fun and dynamic camp will give you a unique taste of African culture.

Join the Belleair staff as we host our Sandlot Camp. The kids will choose the sport and play as long as they want. Staff will supervise all games. Some sports can include: Baseball, wiffleball, flag football, soccer, basketball, dodgeball, street hockey, capture the flag, kickball, and many more great games.

Join Stacey Simmons, former Gator Track and Field Star and NFL wide receiver, for a week of speed training. GUARANTEED to make your child faster! Speed Camp will incorporate the innovative techniques used in his Rapid Acceleration Program, a speed, strength, and conditioning program. This camp will be beneficial for athletes of all sports as it will teach proper running techniques and change of direction skills, improving your child’s overall athleticism.

What’s more fun that building with Legos? Programming them to move and make sounds! We’ll provide the materials and you’ll bring the robots to life. We’ll have sports day, animal day, vehicle day and more. Every day we will build a new robot.

Work on your individual and team skills for volleyball through offensive and defensive drills, specific skills stations which include hitting, serving, passing, and blocking. Learn skills by playing short court, mini tournaments and team building games. Join the fun and increase your individual skill level of volleyball.

We are calling all boys to participate in this week long adventure. As boys grow older, life gets more complex; therefore, we will spend a week re-focusing on the basics of a man’s life.
