ERIC RIPPERT: THE MAN WHOSE HEAD EXPANDEDArtist Eric Rippert investigates particular rembrances using poignant personal imagery. The visual language of shape, color, form and line create his composition. As a result the paintings are a visceral premonition where colors are intuitive and gestures are prompt, uninhibited and vigorous.

The pieces are often completed with ink, pencil, and glaze. Rippert is most interested in sharing with the viewer a sensation more than a statement.

MISTY HUGHES: EXPERIENTIAL POETRYExperiential Poetry is a collection of expressions by one artist exploring the wonder of contrast and variety in individual and unique art experiences. Throughout life, an artist evolves in ebbs and flows as their voice rises and falls in concert with experiencing beauty in a glorious and stunning variety of ways. Misty Hughes is an artist with no boundaries or rules. SULLIVAN FAMILY GALLERYPHYLLIS FANNIN: STILL A FAMILY, STILL STANDINGArtist Phyllis Fannin finds solace in nature and particularly the forest. The calm of the natural world offers her a way of understanding life's cycles, and its everchanging rhythms, in its own unspoken language. The forest communicates beyond cultural concepts and barriers. "Still a Family, Still Standing", is a series of intaglio engraving prints, that speaks to the close connections we make between family and friends.

DIANNE BOLDMAN EDUCATION GALLERYJACKSON KOCH: IMPRESSIONI D'ITALIA:

journey featuring highlights from Florence, Venice, Tuscany, and the Cinque Terre. From the intimacies of daily living

to the grandeur of the Renaissance, the flavor of Italy is expressed through a selection of colorful prints, black and white images, and unique digital photography techniques.

DIANNE BOLDMAN EDUCATION GALLERYCHRISTY GRAY: LIQUID INVITATION

Artist Christy Gray spends time, and a lot of it, on the lake and rivers documenting water, horizon and movement. This

group of photos layered and stich captured moments in time- the startle of a Heron or a breath of wind. This body of

work holds reverence to the water that runs through us and surrounds us.

AUG 5-8 4 DAY KIDS CLASSES

CERAMICSProfessional artist Jessica Ramage (BFA Photography 2003-Cleveland Institute of Art; MA Art Education 2004-Case Western Reserve University) will share her knowledge of wheel-throwing and sculpture in a positive and nurturing environment. Students will learn how to successfully incorporate their hand-building skills and new wheel-throwing skills to create one-of-a-kind sculptures and utilitarian pieces. Each session within the course will focus on a specific theme, helping students to really explore their ideas and imagination culminating in a unique body of work at the end of the course.

CARTOONINGTake your drawing and cartooning skills to the next level with Jim Giar. Jim attended CCAD, studying illustration and photography. There is where adopted advice from his illustration instructor as a lifelong mantra: “every illustration should tell a story.” Recently he has contributed to several anthologies, including the Harvey Award nominated Once Upon A Time Machine published by Locust Moon & Dark Horse Comics, as well as the New York Times best seller FUBAR: Empire of the Rising Dead. He shares his love of comics with kids, looking to motivate the young storytellers of the future to continue telling stories through the use of sequential images… A talent, Jim feels, exists in all children.  In this course Jim will teach basic drawing skills, showing how to give figures form and incorporating storytelling while helping you find your own personal style. Open to any skill level, this class will leave students with a cartooning portfolio to be proud of and tools to apply to any discipline of art.

DRAWING & PAINTINGEric Dull is a 1997 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art with a BFA in Illustration. This intensive program will provide young teens with a creative and supportive artistic environment for portfolio preparation. Students will hone their technical and observational skills, work with a wide range of media, and develop a portfolio of personal work.
