PARENT TOT SWIM CLASS Age 10-40 Months

Introduce your child to the exciting world of aquatics. The class develops the child's comfort level in a safe, fun envi-ronment. The class is for youth ages 10-40 months. Enjoy the beautiful setting as well as Red Wing Water Park's (RWWP) warm water and zero-depth entry. Parent and child interact together in the water using games, songs and toys. All infants must wear a water tight swim diaper.

SUMMER YOUTH SWIM LESSONS Age 40 months and older

Progressive swim lessons are taught at the Red Wing Water Park for youth ages 40 months and older. Come and enjoy the beauty of the Water Park and receive quality lessons. Our zero-depth pool is perfect for beginner level swimmers. Lessons run on Monday through Fridays for two weeks. Please indicate your swimming level when registering. If registering on-line, please indicate level on comment line for class.

Our in-structor will lead you in a routine that will include some aerobic work, stretching and strengthening movements. The water supports your body and provides resistance. This class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Sign up for the Combo class and save $10 on your regis-tration. See the description below.

WINGER GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY ICE SESSIONS Toni Casci

Join Coach Toni Casci for some summer work. On-ice instruction and practice will give you a great summer mix of hard work and fun. We will meet on Tues. and Thurs. from 4:30-5:30 pm beginning July 9 through July 25 (6 sessions). The program will be held at Prairie Island Arena (PIA). Includes Friday afternoon weight lifting at the Red Wing High School (RWHS), 1:30–3:30 pm. Weight room dates June 14, June 21, June 28, July 19, and July 26.

2013 WINGER BOYS HOCKEY CAMP Prairie Island Arena July 8-19 Join the Winger coaches for a great two weeks of hockey camp. This year’s camps will again feature the Elite One Sports Performance team for the High School and Bantam groups. Skill development, dry land training, and scrimmag-es will fill your day. Enjoy some summer hockey and work on your game. Check out the groupings and register by your group. Note: The Mite group does not include any dry land training. Girls are welcome to attend (all groups except HS Group). All players will receive a camp jersey. Please indicate your jersey size when registering. The camp meets Monday through Friday each week. (see schedule top of page 5)

Summer Rec is back for another year and will be filled with more fun events summer! The program is called “Take On Summer!” The program will be held from June 17th-Aug 9th- with park days being Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am-12pm. Tuesdays will be enrichment days from 9am-12pm and Thursdays will be field trip days. Cost is $50.

INTRO TO SOCCER PROGRAM For ages 5 - 8

This introductory soccer program is co-sponsored by the Red Wing Soccer Club and Community Recreation. The program is designed for youth ages 5-8. Skills will be developed through drills and small sided games to ensure everyone has a good time and gets plenty of healthy exercise. All participants will get a T-shirt. Please include T-shirt size when registering. We will play on Saturday mornings. No class July 6th. Register by your age group. TAE KWON DO J.W. Park Academy Randy Ash, Jim Bushey, and Mai Nguyen The J. W. Park Academy teaches traditional Chang Moo Kwon Tae Kwon Do. This class is for all age groups (children 6 and older through adults) Each student works at their own pace, through the ranks needed to achieve Black Belt. When the stu-dent has met the requirements for each rank, they will be al-lowed to test for their next rank. A certificate of rank and belt (when applicable) will be awarded after the student has passed their test. Each class consists of a warm-up and stretching peri-od, followed by training which includes basic motion, form, first free sparring, self-defense and free sparring (Green Belt and above). Tae Kwon Do uniforms are required and must be pur-chased in the class (cost $29-$37). When a student reaches the rank of Green Belt, they will be required to purchase sparring gear (also available in class). The class has ongoing sessions year round.

All groups meet the same time during the summer session.

The Wingman Kids triathlon is a swim, bike, run event for all kids ages 4-13. No experience necessary.

The entire race takes place within Colvill Park in Red Wing, MN.

The swim will be in the outdoor swimming pool. The bike route will be 100% closed to traffic and conducted on the asphalt trail around the park. The run will take place on the sidewalks / grass within Colvill Park.

Children including preschoolers through upcoming 6th graders will discover what’s beneath their feet this summer as Red Wing Public Library presents “Dig Into Reading.” Activities include story times for the younger children and theme-related programs for the older. Families are welcome to “Breakfast on the Farm” at the Lyle and Shannon Dicke Family Farm (33152 Co 6 Blvd) in rural Goodhue. This event will include breakfast, educational dairy tours featuring where and how milk is produced, a petting zoo, calf feeding and enter a calf naming contest. This event is FREE and fun for the whole family!

This program is designed for athletes entering grades 9-12. We will meet at the RWHS track for warm-ups, and will utilize the field area and weight room for Strength and Conditioning/Boot Camp programs which will also incor-porate core and flexibility. This class is designed for any-one who is committed to developing as an athlete. No classes week of July 4. Class size is limited. ACT! PRODUCE! CREATE! Grades 4-12

Instructors: Logan Ritchie and Bill Cagley

In this two week program students will learn how to create a successful Sheldon Theatre production. They will act in a play and create the set, lights, sounds, costumes and marketing for the final workshop.

Class sessions will meet at the Anderson Center, in the barn, 63 Tower View Drive, Red Wing, MN. The final performance will be held at the Sheldon.

SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE WORKSHOP Instructor: James Sewell Ballet

Prerequisite: Previous Dance Experience necessary

(Intermediate to Advanced Students)

In this week long workshop, dancers will work with instructors from the acclaimed James Sewell Ballet in a study of ballet, pilates, improvisation, composition, dance history and dance in film. The final performance will be held at the Sheldon.

Classes will be held at Shoreline Dance, 133 Hedin Ave., Red Wing.

Students should bring a lunch each day.

You recognize that there are physical hazards to be expected in the pro-gram, and here with release and hold blameless the Red Wing Community Education/ Recreation program, the Red Wing School District, the program teacher, leader, staff and any other persons related to the class, from any and all liability from injury/illness because of your, or your legal de-pendents, participation in this program. This waiver does not apply to any injury or damages that are the result of any willful, wanton, or intentional misconduct by the sponsoring organizations or anyone acting on behalf of those organizations. By registering for a program, you have accepted the terms of this agreement.

1. Registration is required at least one week prior to class start.

2. Complete the registration form. Fees must accompany your registration form. You may write one check for all of the class fees.

4. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis up to the maximum enrollment for each class.

Walk-In - ENTER AT DOOR #10 Register IN PERSON at the Red Wing Community Education Office, 2451 Eagle Ridge Drive, Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:00pm. The Community Education and Recreation office will be closed July 4-5.

Charge You may charge with a Visa, Master Card or Discover. Charge in person, over the phone, on-line or by mail. UCare and South Country Health Alliance registration cannot be done on-line.

On-line Registration On-line registrations are available for most offerings at www.redwing.k12.mn.us under Community Ed/Rec.

No Confirmation of Registrations You will be notified ONLY if a class is filled or canceled. If you are not contacted, assume that the class will take place and that you are enrolled in the class. You will receive a confirmation with on-line registrations.

Cancellation of Classes Due to Severe Weather Community Education/Recreation classes are automatically canceled on days when School District #256 buildings do not open due to storms or students are dismissed early due to storms. If class is canceled due to weather, a full refund will be given. Teachers and participants should listen to KCUE 1250 AM or KWNG 106 FM for announcements.

Cancellation If there is insufficient enrollment for a class for which you are registered, you will be notified by phone and you will receive a full refund. Refunds A full refund will be given if classes are canceled by Red Wing Community Education and/or Recreation. A $5 service fee will be charged for cancellations requested by individuals at least one week prior to class start date. The remainder of the registration fee will be refunded. If you cancel with less than a week notice, prior to the start date, NO refunds will be given.
