The Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center serves as a common meeting place for the entire Jewish community. It cooperates with all groups concerned with enriching and enhancing Jewish communal life. The Suffolk Y JCC also works with civic leaders who wish to advance the welfare of the community and further the democratic way of life. The Suffolk Y JCC has an open membership policy.

The Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center admits members and participants of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to participants at the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of the educational policies, admission policies, scholarship, and athletic or other Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center administered programs.

Letter from the PresidentDear Suffolk Y J.C.C. Members and Friends:

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the president of the board of an agency which makes so many wonderful and varied services andopportunities available to its’ members. As I walk through our building I am always pleased and proud to see the blending of the generations: thegrandmothers and pre-school students laughing and smiling with one another and the teachers and child care staff knowing just how to make everyone’s day special. I am impressed by the numerous exhibits which provide valuable information to anyone who can find the time to pause during his or her busy day to appreciate what has been carefully prepared and displayed for your benefit. I am also continually amazed by the number of classes and programs offered to our members week after week.

As you look through this program guide, you will find familiar and extensive classes offered in a variety of areas, as well as new, innovative and exciting programs and activities. Whether you are interested in athletics, cards and games, dancing, arts and crafts, reading ,languages, travel or theater, there is something here for you. Or perhaps you are experiencing a time of personal crisis and or transition. We have support groups andcounselors to help you through the tough times.

Please come and enjoy all that is here for you. Bring a child with you to the Long Island Jewish Discovery Museum or spend an hour or two looking through The NationalJewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. Spread the word about our Unity in the Community and Multi Cultural Programs. This is your Jewish Community Center and a facility that is here to serve you and make our community a better place. We hope it can be a home away from home for you and your family, serving the needs of each member of your household.

The Staff and Board of Directors of the YJCC are here to work with you and for you. We are happy to listen to your suggestions and comments and we will continue to do our best to be responsive to your needs.

We wish you all the wonderful things you wish for yourselves in the coming year. With my best wishes,

Lynne Adair Kramer, President
