Dear Friends and Family,

On behalf of all of us at the JCC, we appreciate each and every one of you who is part of our JCC family. We

continue to work hard to make improvements to the facility and to ensure that our programming is of the highest

quality. We are committed to providing you and your family a warm and welcoming place where you can connect

to your community of family and friends and engage in an array of programming as well as social, cultural and

recreational activities. For over 65 years, the Charleston Jewish Community Center has proudly been serving

people of all ages and stages of life. We encourage you to come and be a part of all the JCC has to offer.

The JCC is always looking for volunteers

ages 16 and over to help enhance our

programs and services. Volunteer for a one-

time event, a weekly project, or anything in

between. Filling community service hours,

doing a mitzvah project, or just helping

World (family event for all ages).

Come out Sunday afternoon for a

wonderful storytelling event for the

whole family. Minerva King will delight

you with Jewish folklore and other multi-

cultural tales from around the world,

often augmented with music. Presented

by the Charleston County Public Library

as part of the Charleston Tells Storytelling

Festival in partnership with the Charleston

Jewish Community Center, KKBE,

Synagogue Emanu-El, BSBI Synagogue,

and Congregation Dor Tikvah.

or private swim lessons, the JCC has

knowledgeable swim instructors available

personalized for each individual and are

Whether enjoying one of our aquatic fitness classes, racing down the lane with the Starfish swim team, or even just beginning to learn how to swim, the Charleston JCC has it all. Dive on in!

is safe, effective and a challenging water

based workout that integrates the Zumba

formula and philosophy into traditional

WatEr aEroBiCsThis class focuses on both cardio and

strength training while you are staying

afloat! Whether you’re trying to maintain

people who suffer from arthritis will want

to give these classes a try!

starfishDoes your little fish eat, sleep, and dream

about swimming? Then the Starfish is for

you! The JCC and The City of Charleston

Recreation Department are teaming up

again this summer to bring you the best

team in the CCAA! Practices begin May,

1st. Registration begins in mid-January.

Practice times will vary, according to

the age group. Meets are Tuesday and

Thursday evenings, with the schedule

provided by CCAA in late May. This is

a parent-supported team and family

volunteers are always needed. For more

information or if you are interested in

becoming a 2013 Swim Team Sponsor,

and JCC Maccabi Artsfest® as we go to

Orange County to represent Charleston!

Whether you are a tennis star, a dancer, or

the next LeBron James, you will want to

this is for teens only! The JCC Maccabi

Games® and ArtsFest® are amazing events

where thousands of Jewish teens meet,

compete and have a great time, creating

memories that will last a lifetime. For

fun, skill-building soccer training back for
