The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality

As to create awareness different departments and associations are encouraged to conduct special lectures

by eminent resource persons. As a part of that activity the following programmes were conducted by

various associations

Women Anti-ranging Jatha was organized by women anti ranging committee on

19.06.2015

World Yoga Day was organized by IQAC on 22.06.2015

A Special programme was organized by IQAC on Geetha Sahithya. Mr Vittal Naik,

Puttur was the resource person.

Orientation programme was organized by IQAC for fresher students on 01.07.2015. 260

student were participated.

Women Awareness camp was organized on 03.07.2015

Discussion with police sub inspector on Women protection. This programme was

organized by women cell on 10.07.2015

Personality Development programme was organized by IQAC in association with India

New Foundation on 25.07.2015. Mr Ramesh Chandra Hegde was the resource person

Inauguration of “Snjeeveni howsada vana” on 21.08.2015 in association with Grama

Panchayath and Forest Department.

On 29.08.2015 Commerce and Management Association was inaugurated by prof.

RadhaKrishna Shetty, Principal, Sharadha College, Basrur

Law Awarness Campa was organized by IQAC in association with police department on

Fire Awareness programme was organized by IQAC in association with First Brigade

and JCI Shankaranarayana on 28.09.2015

On 03.10.2015 our college students were show a small skit competition. This programme

was organized by Udupi District Police in association with Rotary, Kundapura

Ex President Mr A P J Abdul Kalam Birth Day and National Students Day programme

was organized by IQAC in association with Lions Club, Kundapura on 15.10.2015

Spoken English programme was organized by IQAC from 14.12.2015 to 28.12.2015 for

final year students.

Workshop on “ Communication Skill and C V” was organized by IQAC on 21.01.2016

Workshop on “How to Face the Interview and competitative Exam” Training was

conducted by IQAC on 28.01.2016

12 Students were participated in Infosys Campus selection camp held at SMS college,

Bramhavara on 04.02.2016

Inter college cultural competition held at Sharadha college, Basrur on 22.02.2016.Our

college cultural team were participated in “KALARAVA” and bagged first place in

programe Management and Folk dance.

Skill Development Training was organized by IQAC for final year students on

26.02.2016. Mr Gowtham Navada was the resource person. 100 students were

participated.

Entrepreneurship Training programme organized during the academic year 2016-17.

Trainer was Sri Karunakar, Rudset Udupi.

Competitive Exam Training programme was organized by IQAC for final year students

in 2016. Sri Santhosh Nayak, Assistant Professor, Koteshwara was the resource person.

Opportunities in Banking Sector programme was organized by IQAC on 27.02.2016. Sri

G G Hegde was the resource person.

Our college students were participated and bagged a second place in Mangalore

University inter college competition “Oddollga” on 27.02.2016 held at Shri B D Shetty,

Bramhavara

Our college students were participated and bagged a Third place in Programme

Management and folk Dance in Mangalore University inter college competition “Aroha”

on 08.03.2016 held at Lakshmi Soma Bangera First Grade College, Kota Padukere.

More than 15 students were participated in Campus Selection on 26.04.2016 held at

Moodbidre Engineering college.

Our college students were participated in Campus Selection on 30.04.2016 held at

MITK, Moodalkatte.

One day workshop on Teacher Training was organized by IQAC on 07.05.2016. Sri

Dhoma Chandra shekar Principal, Dr. B B Hegde college was the resource person.

Skill Development Training sponsored by \collegiate Education Department and NSDC

from 08.06.2016 to 13.06.2016

One day Campus Selection programme was organized by our college in association with

Hindustan Global Solution company, Mangalore on 11.06.2016. 38 students were got a

job out of 75 students and other college students were also participated

Students’ grievances are addressed by counselling cell. The slow learners and those with

7. Innovations and Best Practices

7.1 Innovations introduced during this academic year which have created a positive impact on the

Internal Quality cell strengthened during the year, which improved the overall quality of

college activities. Also, the result analysis helped both teachers and students greatly, thus

bringing a visible progress in academic results

RUSA grants: During the year great deal of efforts were taken to ensure that the funds for

development of the college and academics will be granted under RUSA scheme. Detailed IDP

was submitted seeking funds under various heads. Various action plans for new

constructions, renovation and ICT were prepared and submitted to the MHRD – RUSA

through KSHEC for administration approval. IQAC coordinator is in-charge of the RUSA

committee.

UGC fund utilisation: Funds under heads from UGC grants were utilised to install a water

purifiers and other equipments in the college for student usage.

One day workshop on entrepreneurship motivation and 20 days coaching for competitive

exams was organised.

The activities, performances of the departments and various associations of the college

have shown a marked improvement

Various activities have been held all round the year: To conduct various programmes from

all the active associations of the college.

Orientation programmes have been held: To conduct orientation programmes for newly

admitted students, teaching and support staff. One day training was held for the entire

faculty.

Results show good improvement at the university level and college level.
