Sub-Contract Procurement Trade Preambles
02.13.20 - Sub-Contract Procurement – Trade Preambles June 2009
This Appendix contains Trade Preambles that should be used as a supplemental pricing guide to inform the respective Sub-Contractor what we expect him to include in his tender. They were specifically designed for Design and Build projects where, at the best, ”Builders Quants.” are issued to the Sub-Contractor. They are designed to eliminate gaps at trade interfaces and also some of the common issues that give rise to variations, dayworks and non-recoverable costs. They can be used on traditional contracts where a Bill of Quantities, measured in accordance with the Standard Method of Measurement, is issued to the Sub-Contractor. However, in this instance, they will need to be modified as some of the items listed would appear in the Bills as measured works. The trades covered are as follows:- • General (use with all trades) • Balustrading • Block Paving • Brickwork/Blockwork • Builders Clean • Carpentry and Joinery Works • Concrete Frame • Demolition • Drainage • Earthworks • External Overhead Doors • Fire Protection • Glazed Tiling • Granolithic and Terrazzo Flooring • Groundwork • Mechanical Services • Metal Decking • Metal Roofing and Cladding • Painting and Decorating • Partitions • Plaster, Render and Screed • Raised Access Flooring • Smoke Ventilation Installation • Specialist Floor Slabs • Structural Steelwork • Surfacing • Suspended Ceilings • Toilet Cubicles and Vanity Units • Vinyl and Carpet Flooring and Tiling
