General This inspection report has to be used to report a visual & dye penetrant inspection of the structural integrity of Terex Mining Excavators. Drawings are generic in origin and are constructed only to give an overview of the component under inspection. Where required or necessary add notes / or sketches to emphasize the inspectors point more clearly. Use this form to report the following conditions:

Damage Cracked Welds Cracked Plates / Castings Faulty Workmanship Repair Recommendations In-field Repairs

To ensure warranty coverage, these forms have to be send as attachment to a PIR (Product Issue Report) via WSS (Warranty & Service System on our homepage) every 5.000 hours or anually. For identifying the report in our database, Part-No. 9 999 905 must be used in corresponding field of PIR. In case no cracks have been found during inspection, please complete and transmit first page only. Procedure First clean the critical areas thoroughly using cleaning agents and either a high pressure water or steam cleaner. A close visual inspection must be done to determine whether there are any suspect areas. If there is a requirement for checking, prepare the surface of the relevant area to be inspected and carry out the dye penetrant test. The ellipses and arrows on attached sketches indicate the most critical welding connections. 1. Select the sketch that represents the structural component under inspection. 2. Note the problem, defect, or concern of the customer. When reporting on cracked welds or plates use the area designated to sketch in more detail the characteristics of the crack. 3. Note the action required and the inspectors recommendation for repair. 4. Record customers response and evaluation of the inspection. 5. Note repairs completed indicating whether temporary or permanent. 6. Attach photos of the damage and repairs completed to this report. 7. The dye penetrant kit is available from Terex

Cleaner Part-No.0 552 304 Penetrant Part-No.0 552 301 Developer Part-No.0 552 302 A local dye penetration kit from a known supplier can be used as well.

All structural repairs are to be carried out in accordance to Welding Procedures of Terex GmbH, described in Technical Handbook Welding which is part of Technical Documentation delivered with each machine.
