I would like to thank all the Committee who have been busy behind the scenes making sure everything goes smoothly. 2016 is my final year/term as President. It will be my 9th year and it is time for some new blood, which in the 2016 committee there already is. I will not be “dumping” the reigns on anyone. The job of President has come full circle since I commenced in 2007. Being President was an eye opener, being everywhere for everyone. That has certainly changed with a strong executive in place, and the establishment of new sub-committees for sponsorship, fundraising and now the juniors. This will ensure that no one will be burnt or rather exhausted by the job. The saying “many hands make light work” could not be more apt in such a fine club as Derwent. There are a number of new initiatives, upcoming events and sponsorship opportunities contained within this newsletter. They highlight how strong the Club is and what direction it is taking. So in conclusion I wish all teams the best of luck for season 2016 and look forward to seeing all of you at some stage during 2016.
