Acceptable Roofs Homes (HO3 & HO5)- Less than 51 Years in Age: Dwelling Fire - Less than 60 years in Age: All roofs must be in good condition, regardless of type. If there is any known damage, deterioration, missing shingles, excessive granular loss, raised/lifting shingles, or more than 1 layer of shingles on the roof the risk is ineligible. Exception - Florida allows 2 layers of shingles and Kansas allows Composition over Wood The following Roof Types are acceptable: 1. Aluminum, Standing Seam 2. Hail Proof (must be installed within the last 20 years to be eligible. Exception CA and FL - 25 years). 3. Shingles, Aluminum 4. Acceptable Roofs Roofs - Homes 51 - 100 Years in Age (HO3 & HO5) All roofs must be in good condition, regardless of type. If there is any known damage, deterioration, missing shingles, excessive granular loss, raised/lifting shingles, or more than 1 layer of shingles on the roof the risk is ineligible. Exception - Florida allows 2 layers of shingles and Kansas allows Composition over Wood. The following Roof Types are acceptable: 1. Aluminum, Standing Seam (must be installed within the last 15 years to be eligible). 2. Hail Proof (must be installed within the last 15 years to be eligible. Exception: Florida – within the last

Tile Roof Exception: Florida – Tile roof is acceptable if in good condition. However, Barrel, Spanish and Arch Shape roofs are ineligible in Florida if wind coverage is included.

Acceptable Roofs Roofs Dwelling Fire Policies 61- 100 Years in Age
Dwelling Fire Policies constructed between 61 -100 years require completion of the following:
Older Dwelling Survey Form
The age of all eligible roofs must be 15 years or less, except flat roofs.
Flat roofs where allowed, must be 10 years or less. The only states eligible for flat roofs in the dwelling fire program are AZ, NM, NV, CA and certain UT counties: (Garfield, Iron, Kane and Washington). In the acceptable states, the flat roofs must meet the following requirements:
The roof must be less than 10 years old;
The roof must have at least ¼ inch of rise for every 12 inches of run.

Asbestos, Composition Asphalt T-Lock Shingles, and Masonite are ineligible roof types and are
not listed in the photos shown below.
Roof types shown below in Bold RED are ineligible.
Roof types with an asterisk ( * ) Foam and Vinyl are Flat roof types that are only available in select
States: AZ, AR, CA, CO, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KY, ME, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV,NM, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA,
SD, TN, UT, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY.
