Quiz Night - 1st February Please note that the Quiz Night and Fish and Chip Supper starts at 7.30pm
and NOT at 7.00pm as stated on the tickets.
Parish Centre Work
The first two weeks of the work in the Parish Centre has
gone well. The AV system has been installed in the
Bulson Hall, and is nearing completion in the Lowry
Room. In the Centre foyer you can see the rough shape
of the new bar.
Next week is busy, with the bar construction continuing,
and work on the Bulson Hall kitchen and redundant Lowry Room window.
Wi-Fi is being installed in the Church and Centre, and there are new signs
being installed at the south entrance to the church and in the Square.
The Parish Centre foyer will be closed during the day and possibly some
evenings, so access to the Centre will be via the church at those times.
Volunteers needed to help tell Bible stories
in Lee Infant & Lee Junior School Our ‘Open the Book’ (Lee Infants) and ‘The Word’ (Lee
Juniors) teams go into the schools fortnightly to lead as-
semblies in which we tell Bible stories in creative ways.
‘Open the Book’ is 2.00-3.00pm on Thursdays, ‘The Word’
is 9.30-10.30am on Wednesdays.
We are looking for new people to join these teams. If you are enthusiastic
about helping a new generation hear about Jesus, we would love you to join
us. You will need to be able to come to assemblies at the relevant times and
to come to planning meetings.
For more information, or to volunteer, please speak to Bridget Dean, Becca
Chamberlain, or Paul Chamberlain (call Paul or Becca on 023 9200 6184).
People & Planet Group The state of the environment, and
caring for it, is one of the most pressing
issues in our world today. Our People
and Planet group looks at this issue and
will seek to advise the church on what
we can do to respond. Anyone with an interest in this topic is welcome to
come to the People and Planet Group, whose next meeting will be at
7.30pm on Tuesday 4thFebruary in the Lowry Room. Do join us!

Happy Birthday to Alison King Happy birthday to Alison King who is celebrating a
significant birthday. After this morning’s Parish Eucharist
she has kindly provided cake for us to enjoy and with
which to celebrate her birthday.
Crèche help needed for the Parenting Course Help is needed for the Parenting Course for the following Friday dates:-
7th February and 6th and 20th March from 9.00-11.30am. Even if you are
not able to do all three dates your help would be much appreciated for
whichever dates you can manage. If you don't have a church DBS one can
be done for you.
For further information please talk to Becca Chamberlain or email
Reading at the Parish Eucharist and
at Evening Prayer The new rotas from 2nd February to the 26th April
are now at the back of the church. Thank you to
the people who have already signed up and if you
have never read at St Faith’s, and would like to, it
would be great if you put your name down. For
further information please speak to Andrew Munro in the Church Office.
PCC meeting on Tuesday At the PCC meeting this coming week our architect, Simon Goddard, is
speaking to the PCC about the work needed on the church, and making
suggestions as to how we might undertake this. We will also be
reflecting on our Christmas celebrations, thinking about taking our vision
forwards, and hopefully considering the initial end of year finances for last
year. Please do pray for the PCC as it meets next week.

Pastoral Reorganisation in Gosport Plans are being implemented for significant pastoral reorganisation of
some parishes in Gosport. In north Gosport, the parishes of Elson, Rowner
and Bridgemary are being combined into one unit, which will have two
stipendiary clergy. Those parishes are beginning to work on a Parish Profile,
to identify the potential future shape of church life in those areas, and what
they are looking for their clergy to be doing.
Similarly, the parishes of Holy Trinity Gosport, Christ Church, and St John’s
Forton are being combined into one, also with two stipendiary clergy,
although this is happening a few months later than in north Gosport.
It’s not clear at present whether the current clergy in those parishes will
have a role in the new schemes, and there will also be additional posts paid
for by the Church of England Strategic Development Fund, to help mission
and ministry in these parishes grow.
Please do pray for our brothers and sisters in these parishes, as they
consider the significant changes and opportunities this reorganisation will
bring, and for the growth and mission of these parishes in the years ahead.
Do join us to pray each weekday - 8.30am Morning Prayer,
5pm Evening Prayer!
