Cosmical – Race3 No. 4 was presented tonight without it’s registration certificate. Stewards after satisfying

themselves as to the identity of the greyhound, permitted the COSMICAL( 4 ) to compete under GAR 33(2),

however found trainer C Chappelow to be in breach of GAR 33(4), and imposed a fine of $100.00

Stewards extended kennelling by 20 minutes per GAR 31(3), to accommodate the Sydney based trainers

caught up in the traffic disruption on the M1, after the earlier accident.

PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

LOCKY PALUZA( 5 ) jumped smartly and led throughout. BARACUTA ICON( 3 ), and FLETCH IS FLYING( 4 ), were slow to begin. WINDSOR VELLA( 6 ) hampered DEMELZA( 1 ) in the run to the first turn. WINDSOR VELLA( 6 ) checked DEMELZA( 1 ) approaching the first turn, with DEMELZA( 1 ) , losing ground. BARACUTA ICON( 3 ), checked SPRING SLATER( 9 ) at the first turn, causing SPRING SLATER( 9 ) to race wide hampering FLETCH IS FLYING( 4 ), both losing ground. WINDSOR VELLA( 6 ) was checked off the heels of LOCKY PALUZA( 5 ), at the turn out of the back straight.

WINNER FIRST ORDER( 1 )

PERFORMANCE/

INCIDENTS

GOODWIN REGGIE( 2 ) was slow to begin. In two separate incidents in the run to the first turn, ZIPPING IZABELLE( 4 ), and MULWEE MIRACLE( 7 ) came together, with MULWEE MIRACLE( 7 ) racing wide thereafter, hampering SHORTCUTS( 8 ), and PHILLIP( 3 ) checked FIRST ORDER( 1 ), causing FIRST ORDER( 1 ), to lose ground sharply. SHORTCUTS( 8 ) checked ZIPPING IZABELLE( 4 ) at the first turn, with ZIPPING IZABELLE( 4 ) losing ground hampering21. MULWEE MIRACLE( 7 ) raced very wide running through the catching pen. PHILLIP( 3 ),lost ground at the turn in to the back straight. GOODWIN REGGIE( 2 ) struck the running rail approaching the home turn, becoming unbalanced, from this incident and galloping on the back of ZIPPING IZABELLE( 4 ), with both runners ,losing ground sharply. SHORTCUTS( 8 ) momentarily looked inwardly at MULWEE MIRACLE( 7 ) in the home straight GOODWIN REGGIE( 2 ) was vetted with no incapacitation period imposed. PHILLIP( 3 ) was vetted and was found to have injured the near side pin muscle. 14

Days Incapacitation Certificate issued.

Stewards spoke to the trainer of SHORTCUTS( 8 ), regarding his greyhounds actions in the home straight. Whilst not taking any further action, Stewards informed trainer P Blake that the greyhounds future performances will be closely monitored.

Stewards were informed that the handler of PHILLIP( 3 ) was smoking on the track whilst parading

the greyhound back to the kennels post race. Inquiries made by Stewards identified the handler as

Wayne Chandler, a part owner of the greyhound. Stewards interviewed Mr Chandler, who made full

admissions, informing Stewards that he is an habitual smoker, who gets nervous when his

greyhounds race, and was apologetic for his actions. Stewards reprimanded Mr Chandler under

GAR 86(o), advising that a repetition would not be expected.

HARPERAMA( 3 ) raced wide at the first turn checking GLENREAGH SKUD( 7 ), and RAVEN LOCH( 8 ), with RAVEN LOCH( 8 ) losing ground. BLAZING STORM( 1 ) raced wide running through the catching pen hampering HARPERAMA( 3 ). BLAZING STORM( 1 ), continued to race wide in the back straight hampering HARPERAMA( 3 ). BLAZING STORM( 1 ), GLENREAGH SKUD( 7 ), and RAVEN LOCH( 8 ) came together approaching the turn out of the back straight, with BLAZING STORM( 1 ),losing ground. ASTON GINGER( 4 ), galloped on the back of COP A CHEVY( 5 , at the turn out of the back straight, with COP A CHEVY( 5 ), losing ground and continuing to lose ground for the remainder of the race. HARPERAMA( 3 ), and RAVEN LOCH( 8 ) came together, soon after entering the home straight. COP A CHEVY( 5 ) was vetted with no incapacitation period imposed. Stewards intended to speak to the trainer of COP A CHEVY( 5 ), regarding the greyhounds performance, however due to a mis-communication with the kennel staff, trainer M Manuel had departed the track. Stewards will follow up with Mr Manuel next week.

found to be sore in a number of spots, most notably in the near side fan muscle, and the off side
