The internet is good for lots of reasons but there can be some risks. Some of the risks are:

• People might trick you into giving them money.

• People might try and get your personal details like your date of birth and address. They then use them to pretend to be you.

• People might bully you or make you do things you don’t want to on social media, like Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat.

This might be sending pictures of yourself or sending rude messages.

People tricking you into giving them money.To stop people doing this you should:

• Never send money to anyone you don’t know in person.

• Never give your bank details to anyone over the internet.

• Don’t click on links that ask you to enter your bank details to get a refund.

• Always use website you can trust. If you are not sure then ask family members or friends.

• Never give your personal details to anyone over the internet.

• Don’t use the same password for everything. Make sure it is nothing easy to guess, like your birthday or 1234.

• Be careful about copying posts on Facebook that ask you to say things like different names you go by, different places you’ve lived and so on. These are used by criminals to get your personal details and guess passwords.
